Toll explains it. Higher end materials are used in the TX to give it a more stable and tighter feeling. That shaft is $400 and the only place you can get such a thing other then the tour van is guys like tollbros shop or other high end club makers.

I really, really wanted the mavrik to work. It does a fantastic job at keeping spin low. And it's about 1mph faster than sim and launches a bit higher. I hit a few absolute bombs for my swingspeed with it. I'm in the 108-110 range and I hit a few with mavrik that carried 280. I think the SIM I ordered got to 276 and most were in the 273-275 range.

But...and it's a HUGE but...toe side of center and especially high toe and this head wants to go left. I hit 2 shots today, in further testing, that were off the map left. That was a deal breaker. Ordered a SIM.

That makes sense. The TX Versions of shaft are in many cases just as different from the main line as made for shafts. Just in a different direction. I have a TX green and it is very different from the main line green shafts.

Hit the triple diamond flash today with the mavrik. The results were very similar. Mavrik more left bias. Trip diamond wanted to go straighter more consistently but still had a touch of left bias for me. Moving the rear weight to fade helped further but the callaway heads all favor a near hook if you're in the toe at all. I haven't hit a callaway in a long time. Hitting them the last 2 days helped me see what twist face really does.

I don't understand Callaway's product lines. They've got duplication in epic flash and both mavrik heads. I wonder why they don't just have one line...

So normally the tx shafts are posted on the aldila website, in this case it’s a big zero for the aldila white. Have a look at the black and the silver. Very interesting.

Assuming you tested the Mavrik SZ against your Triple Diamond? Same loft heads? How did spin compare?

I play m5 now. Tested triple.diamond, mavrik sz, regular epic flash sz, and all the sim heads.

Triple diamond looked the best because it sat square to open. It had very similar numbers to.mavrik...if I were in triple diamond then I wouldn't go to mavrik. I hit several bombs with both heads. 280 carry at 158 or 159 ballspeed. Mavrik wanted to turn left. Face closed too much. Didn't see that with triple diamond. But toe side strikes still wanted to go a touch left. No good for a fader with toe side of center contact.

Some awesome heads that contour to different misses. Can’t go wrong with the head that suits yours after a fitting.

that's what the Triple diamond is for. the face has less bulge and roll and a slightly fade bias.
