New callaway driver “mavrik” (Pics added Page 8)

This is in the Rogue replacement timing. They release a new driver every year, but they’re on 2 year cycles. Epic, then this year Epic Flash. Last year was a Rogue, now a Rogue replacement. Not that hard to see their cycles....

Saw the new product the other day. The orange doesn't bother me at all. Driver and fairways look good. Putters look good. Irons...so so cosmetically. That is what I don't understand though...when you are hitting the ball, you don't see the cavity so who cares. As long as the clubs perform, it shouldn't be an issue. But to each his own. I will continue to either use my MP18 SC irons or go back to my X forged/Apex MB split set once they are reshafted. Wasn't able to get pics, sorry.

That is for appearances only. I guarantee that production of the Rogue was stopped well before the release of the Epic Flash. They just say that it is not discontinued so they can runout old inventory rather than heavily discounting (actually a smart strategy).

I saw the whole line today, except for the irons. The Mavrik Pro hybrid is going to make a lot of PNT2 fans very happy, just like the Super is going to do for Super LS fans who wanted something that doesn’t feel like a cola can.

 

The drivers both looked great from address, a nice blend of Callaway shape & pear shape.

 

All in all it looks like a very nice line, even if the orange isn’t for some folks.

Yup doubt that shaft is a stock. The coool is an upgrade in brands that offer it and the helium is a stock or cheap upgrade in TM and Ping iirc

Yes, the riptide is a stock option. Along with the smoke and tensei blue.

Encouraged that the orange is subtle, not a favorite of mine.

I saw the line yesterday.

Drivers look like the original Epic at address (shape and finish). The white line on top is gone. The orange is slightly brighter than a burnt orange and has a slight flake in it. I personally didn't like it. I'm not spending money to get a custom either. Rep said that the sound is closer to the Rogue. Not near as a loud or pingy as the flash.

Hybrids had same color scheme.

Irons looked like a rebadged x hot black plastic combined with the triangle from the apex. Totally a big box store product.

Putters were uuuuugly to me. That triple track on top was insanely cheap looking. I saw the spider look alike with it, a mallet, and a 1 wide with it.

Overall, I was very underwhelmed by the line. It just all had a big box store look to them.

The new ogio bags look like the same ones that Titleist is using. Same materials, handles, and straps. I'm guessing vessell is making bags for both now. Price point should be good - $200ish for stand bag.

It wasn't subtle. The headcover has the orange. Imagine the Epic Flash covers that have orange instead of green. The majority of the heel and toe sides of the of the bottom of the club are orange (except for black in middle parts).

Had the chance to see the line today and while the woods looked good the irons are a hot mess, just look like rebadged Rogues with the same garbage finish. Nothing compelling to me to try out the line, wouldn’t shock me to see Callaway slide a bit this year.
