He got back to me Friday after two poor days on the greens. Met up with him that evening with a couple models, and he put one in the bag for the weekend. I purchased what I believe to be a Tracer model.
I emailed him to get some background info on it and if he can do some porting to add weight.
I game all my putters at 33", at that length its real lite compared to my other putters. I'd rather have Dave do the work to his putter verse sending it to a different specialist.

No response means I put it back to 34-35" and sell it. That would really bum me out because the feel and looks of it are sweet to me.

Yup he was always in favor of lighter putters so 350g maybe the odd 355g was generally his max except for that Tracer and Corsa models which I saw some I think 365g at the heaviest for those larger blades.

 

But yeah he always preferred 350g and under so no need for weight ports at that weight.

As for Goodwood he seems to be semi active on Instagram but any new putters are being sold through 2ndSwing. Maybe they have exclusive rights now for sales and they also have his new mallet shape up there so seems like they're in business just not so custom either anymore.

Maybe when he saw that he was getting super busy, he pumped the brakes on customs so he wouldn’t tick off people who would have to wait too long. I have no clue if this is the case, but if it is, I give him mad props for not overpromising.

Definitely seems like sending a few putters to 2ndSwing while busy is better than going silent as long as it's doable then when things open up the customs come back.

Maybe a message on his website like stepping away from the management side of the business to focus on the building/design of putters would be my suggestion to all his followers. Instead of ignoring his email and requests.

I’ve purchased two putters from David at different times. He would respond to my emails within minutes and we would have a nice dialog.  Always sent me photos to document the process leading up to shipment.  He always hit my desired head weight within one gram of what I requested.  Flawless experience for me and would have no reservations about ordering another.

I’ve been looking at these putters recently and he makes some really nice putters for a reasonable price. I love the overall clean, classic look. I may have to pull the trigger on a carbon G7 with a welded flow neck.

Good Wood makes some really solid looking stuff. The milling and finish of the heads look on par with Cameron, Lamb, Olsen, Cody James, etc. for a fraction of the cost. if I didn’t already have something special coming I’d be taking advantage of ordering from him.

I've had my carbon G7 Goodwood for about 1 year. Being that I've sent it back his way twice for cosmetic changes and adjustments, I've only had about 20 rounds with it. Now that we got the center shaft installed, it sets the ball perfectly for me. I have a Piretti Potenza in carbon that I also like, but the deep milling on the face feels way to soft for me. The weight is dialed in. No need to mention the sex appeal, but while we are here. Top line rolled with a single sight line, center shaft butted up and perfectly welded. When I cover it up with the Kobe 10 X Grinch edition shoe cover (RIP) my hand hurts from all the high fives I get walking to the club house. Goodwood putters are legit and have turned my SC and Piretti into corner art in my office.

Since it seems David answers questions here and others can see it and could answer also - would I be able to get the G6 in lefty but as stainless instead of carbon and are there options for deeper milling?

I guess this would be more of a general putter question but is there a rule of thumb for loft/lie adjustments by length? I see the standard for Goodwood is 3*/70*. I would assume this is for a 35 inch putter. Would I generally want to adjust that for a 33.5 inch putter?

Good looking putter. Was the Cherry (tiffany) bomb done to remove weight from the toe for some reason of just to aesthetics?

 Stole the putter for a couple hundred and sent it back to David to have initials removed the bumpers stamped new paint fill and get the center shaft welded. This is how it looked when I got it.
