Any info on the Scotty Cameron Select 2020 line?

Newport 2 topline. Wonder about the hosel front near the cup that looks a little blocky to me perhaps it is reflection?

Also face shot. I don’t think the face engraving comes close to the sweet spot. Just need some better photos.

That’s a very good pic of the face and shows what I said earlier about the stamping on the face not being as bad as we all feared. For folks who were keen on the NP2 top line and how it compared to the Hideki tour proto, here they are side by side. Looking good so far...

Thanks for sharing. The finish looks downright sexy. I'm seeing a lot of the original Anser 2 lines in the new model, which is good as that's the sexiest blade ever IMO. The only downside was its light weight.

The “tourtype SSS” interesting. We have seen the multiple dots before on some Byron Morgan putters (called triple milled sea foam dots).

The big angular top of the hosel ruins the putters in my opinion. It doesn’t match up with the rest of the putter. I wish they would’ve used the neck from the T 22s.

There are significant differences in the milling of the Prototype (Tourtype) NP/NP2 heads in comparison to the OTR version. You can see it in the refinement of the milling in the neck, shoulders, and bumpers. The Tour version is softer and looks like every detail was thought out. The OTR has a more angular look especially on the neck from address.

Agreed. Hence my comment earlier that it was about 95% there, and needed some softening. This might be the first Scotty in years that may be worth sending in to have the edges of the shoulders and bumpers softened.

Everything I have seen looks good so far (but thats only the pics here). I am ready to see the other headshapes and necks as well. And what is with the heavier weights in all the putters?? I have gone to a more heavier putter recently so I am a fan but just wondering what he is doing with this.

If the head weight is down 20 gr and the weights are up 10 gr each, then the overall weight is the same while the MOI is increased. If correct, it sounds like a nice tradeoff to me.

So theyll still be floating in the 340-350 range? Will they make heavy enough weights to get it to 370ish? Seems crazy to have to look for 40g weights.

Scotty's styling influence from the hot rod culture is known. But as someone who grew up in the family grocery store as a young kid, I recognize and associate with the phrase "Fine Milled Putters".

"Fine" is a term associated with the highest quality fruits & vegetables. You might see it in the supermarket on the sides of boxes and crates if you go into the Produce section while the bins are being re-stocked with fresh items.

 

Fine, Special and Select are terms commonly used in the fresh produce business. Such as "Fine Select Peaches".

you can get use to anything and actually start to prefer that. For instance, the sight line, you don't prefer a sight line but grab one on a whim and have a great round or start making putts, then all of sudden you want a sight line.

What I really don't get is there are obviously putters now at many retailers around the country, pictures leaking out all over, yet still no announcement of any type by Scotty? What's the holdup?
