Any info on the Scotty Cameron Select 2020 line?

someone over on TCC pulled the head and removed the weights on a Newport 2. It was 283 grams. The other blades should be the same.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I think this is still safe in my bag. Amazing how many people ask me if this is a Tour Scotty.

Can anyone explain why they would cut out ports like this directly under the weights instead of just using slightly lighter weights? I can't wrap my head around it. Removing weight and then adding more weight. Lower CG? An excuse to sell different weights? Unless it's just to get the raw head to a desired weight? ie companies adding weights to the tips of iron heads to get them to spec without telling you

I'm going to game this putter, I'm just curious about the ports as shown in the photo

My 1/500 Fastback feels wonderful with TP5 balls. Tomorrow once FedEx shows up I'll be removing the stock shaft and installing a BGT Stability Tour shaft in it's place.

I love my 2014 Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2.5 but am tempted to give this 2.5 a look.

anyone gaming it? Seems the offset is slightly different for the Special Select line...

Pulled the shaft from my 34" Fastback and weighed the head. 357 grams. Kind of surprised me as it's a tad heavier than all my other Fastbacks. Installing a Stability Shaft tomorrow.

I would disagree. Having owned and currently being an owner of CT putters, Cameron’s retail offerings are a lot closer to the CTs than the other way around. It’s more surprising to me not what they charge for their retail offerings, but rather that they can get away with charging what they do for the CTs.

Not here to defend SC, as I couldn’t care less about such (for example, I think that SC headcover collecting is dumb, especially given pricing, but to each their own).

Can’t comment on the delta from 2014 but I have a NP 2.5 inbound. Had to order as I fit best into 34.5”. The branding is not my taste and I wish they came with no sight line but I love the overall look of the head, it sets up nicely behind the ball, the balance works perfectly for my swing, and it feels great at impact.

I’m in no way a Scotty fan boy but this iteration is as close to ideal as I’ve been able to find for my taste

I rolled most of the new putters in the Select line. Feedback is exponentially better than the last few years of inserts. Solid feel subtle look. Scotty delivered what we were looking for and we will still find a way to complain, haha.
