Any info on the Scotty Cameron Select 2020 line?

It seems as if Cameron uses multiple operations to mill and finish these heads or simply doesn't have a standard "finishing" spec for each head. Specifically, there is no consistency in the way the Newport/Newport 2 models are buffed off the mill. Some have clearly visible and distinct milling patterns around the corners on the bumpers while others have been buffed off completely changing the look of the putter. I just don't understand how this should be possible on a $400 + putter. The technology that exists and that Cameron utilizes pretty much allows each head to be fully milled and essentially bead blasted to desired finish without needing any hand work whatsoever.

I really like the distinct milling around the corners but can't find a 34" Newport 2 that is consistent.

Ive used the Tamiya acrylics on numerous putters and the durability is good. I tend to wash my putters off after playing and have had no issues.

Interesting guess I haven't noticed this. Have you seen differences in person or only in the pictures people are posting?

In person. There are enough of these out now that it's definitely noticeable from one batch to the next.

I have had 2 Newport 2’s at this point and can confirm this to seemingly be the case. Sold the first one and reordered and 2nd came in with better bumpers. More finshied. The first looked rough and the finish was not the same bead blasted finish around the cove of the bumpers.

Different CN milling machines, different operators and who knows if there are different sites making putters.

I wipe it down with a Cameron oil rag from time to time.

This sound weird, but you can put a little ketchup on a rag and it does the trick.

TOTALLY, same here. I am actually going to return this one I have and special order another because I noticed that the bumpers were not finished as well.

These reports of inconsistent finish quality are disconcerting. Was about to place an order, but maybe it be best to wait a while for the quality control process to improve.

Thankfully I didn't have any finishing issues with the DelMar line..

I don’t...it’s quite noticeable when you have multiple NP and NP2 models to look at. Some have zero hand work/buffing done where all mill marks straight off the machine are present and others have been buffed smooth and clean.

I personally prefer all the pronounced mill marks be present but I haven’t found one yet across 3 stores by me that have the NP2s.

Have you seen one with the milling you're looking for, even in pics? I don't think I have. I feel like there's a difference between what we saw in the tour prototype and OTR versions in terms of bumper milling. I liked what I saw from the tour sticks with the aggressive bumper milling but I'm not as wild about the shoulder "step" milling on the OTRS.

this is NP2 with mill and finish on the first bumper but not the second. I haven't seen one retail that you are referring to.

Mine is 99% naked too. Used acetone and dental pick. Left the black sight line though.

Wish I could see some pictures showing the different milling and finish work on a NP and NP2. I'm not seeing it in the pictures shown thus far. I need to go hit my local shop again.
