Either different milling shops or change of spec. Now I think about it, it doesn't surprise me to outsource to multiple milling shops given the scale of Scotty Cameron OTRs. It is risk management.

 

I also don't think anything is arbitrary. Usually, there are spec, in which there are tolerance level. Hence, you'll see slight variation in the finished products.

 

Just my two cents. I have no visibility into milling operation.

I had to add 25 grams of lead powder to my 33 NP2, at this time SC only offers up to 40 gram,does anyone know if they will offer 50 gram weights?

Through the butt end of the shaft, add powder then cork. Easier to do when grip is off, but you can buy a what's called a Grip Saver from GW, which is the way I did mine.

Thanks. I know that method, I was hoping you might say you loaded the ports under the weights and reinstalled weights. I was curious how much powder you can get in there. I would think the lead powder in the shaft would move the cg, correct?

I use tungsten putty, you can get it at Hobby Lobby. And use a digital scale to measure weights and putty, get them equal. Weights not equal? Never.

I have the finished porting that's the same as bogeyman. Mine's also a 34" Newport with 35 gr weights.

There is a member here that put tungsten under the weight, but I think he only got in about 3 grams per side. Heck if I know if it moves the cg, but hopefully this is a temporary fix. Here is mine

3 to 6 grams won't move the cg. That's only ~1.5% of the total headweight, plus it's split half-and-half between the two ports. It might move the cog down by 1 nanometer.

lead powder and cork, will be there forever. And with added weight in shaft, it will increase toe hang and flow.

Its best to add weight by changing to heavier weights or adding tungsten putty.

Well I can remove the cork and powder at anytime with no issues. I'd like to add about 20 grams, but no 50 gr weights available.

What is the swing weight for the Newport 35" with standard pistolini plus grip that comes with it? Just curious because I'm going to order one with a Matador oversize grip and they're lighter.

Which customizations were done by you, and which were done by the Custom Shop? I like the alternating colour scheme on the "Cameron" neck font but never saw it as an option on the custom shop website

I did everything myself. Shaft band and grip from ebay. The grip is a fake, but it feels great and I wanted lime green.

Anyone know the grip weight of the pistolini plus grip? I'm swapping it out for a matador oversize grip which is 68g.
