Any info on the Scotty Cameron Select 2020 line?

Awesome. I've had an original Piretti Cottonwood 2 for 10 years now. Don't have a real reason to switch as I've always putted well and just loved the shape of it. I'm excited to try this one as I feel it's probably going to be a little more forgiving just given the technology advancements and I finally found something with the same head shape.

This perceived inconsistency might be due to photos being taken in different lighting conditions. Look how different light can bring out the (I think desirable) milling patterns. Here is the heel of the same putter in three different lightings:

I currently use a BeCu Anser with heavy patina so I'm with you, but I do prefer smooth edges. I think that's what turns me off based on the pics, but I've yet to see one in person so maybe it's a lot of nothing.

Thinking about ordering a fastback can I order custom length, weight and grip? Are those all possible at regular pricing still?

Recently I struggled a bit about distance control and pulling the ball to left with my Studio Stainless Newport Beach. I tried Special Select Newport / Newport2 but can not get used to its weight setting or firmer feeling. I tried Squareback2 and like it better. Unfortunately when I decided to buy it it's sold out.

I accidentally tried Flowback5 (no 5.5 there, either) and I was pleasantly surprised about how good it is. The alignment is so simply and the roll is so straight / pure. And the look is not bad, bigger than Fastback1.5 and prettier than GOLO. I never thought I'm a SBST guy and used putters with mid to max toe hang ( Newport, Newport2, Newport2.5, Spider Red slant neck, Spider X slant neck...etc) for the past couple years. I used Scotty X5 (close to face balanced) but did not go well. However this Flowback5 just does the magic. I grabbed it and played first round yesterday. The green yesterday was slow, with long / messy grass (we had heavy rain for the past couple days). 33 putts, not bad, no 3-putt. Holed couple putts that my playing partners all missed. Will keep it in the bag for a while :)

I just picked up a fastback 1.5 1/500. It is 34 inch with 15 gram weights. I put in 20 gram weights and it feels great. I don't know if it'll knock out my futura 5.5m though.

I think those are the good corners - congrats hope it works well

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Thanks for the feedback. That’s the model that I am interested in. I am a mallet guy and loves my Golo years ago. I am a SBST guy.

Anyone else using one?

Just played my first round with the Special Select Newport. Would agree compared to my 2018 Newport, I like the look and feel of the Special Select better. Also agree, I think in the Special Select line, the Newport looks better than the Newport 2. IMO they went too thin on the Newport 2 top line.

Also beware, the Special Select line is about 5g lighter in the blade heads for the 2018 Select. I might have to go up in sole weights. What I don't like is I think Cameron went lighter in the head to match the lighter Pistolini Plus grip to keep the swingweights the same. Once I put my standard 80g Superstroke on, the head feels lighter than my 2018 Newport. For example, the 2020 Newport head plays at 353g with standard weights at 34" and the 2018 was 358g. That 2+ swingweights, not insignificant....
