I saw a Facebook group post from a Labgolf employee stating they had a lot of factory seconds if anyone is interested. Hooked me up with a great deal.

Just received mine today doesn’t hurt to email them and check to see if there is one in your specs. There was not a mark on mine.  Looking forward to getting it on an actual green.

I just responded to customer service after my remote fit and asked if they had any factory seconds that matched my specs.  I have noticed them listing some on eBay recently as well labgolfoutlet

Thanks, ive seen those. I was just wondering if these posted on facebook are different than the ones I see on ebay.

Whats the link or the facebook group thats selling them?  Thank you.

It was in a group called Club Junkies Marketplace. He basically just showed the pictures and listed his email address for more info. [email protected] was the email. He’s also the person who replied with my specs after my remote fitting.

They didn’t have any on the eBay page in my specs. He responded to my email with two in my specs, so they must be different.

Thanks.  I looked for months trying to find my specs(32 in/72degree) on ebay, but nothing matched 100%.  Let us know how your experience goes

Welp, I did it. It's happening. Custom DF2.1, black, black BGT Stability shaft, Press II 3*, #6 alignment. I'm extremely excited. I hope my B.2 doesn't feel sad, especially since I am really starting to feel comfortable with it, making everything. I think it will be fun to go back and forth between the two.

I will keep you updated and post pics!

Thanks so much, LABGolf. This has been just what I needed.

Give them a call!  Plenty of 72* lie angles. Perhaps they have a 33” ready to party or could trim one down and adjust the balancing?  They’re super friendly on the phone and easy to work with. Maybe put you on a list if a factory second pops up in your specs?

Seriously, contact Trey ([email protected]). He had me setup with a couple of options (with pictures ) within an hour.  Mine was already finished and gripped and didn’t need to be cut down or anything. They sent a PayPal invoice and shipped UPS the same day. It’s supposed to be here by Friday. Couldn’t have been more simple.

What’s really fun is trying to go back to a non LAB putter!  Sometimes when I’m recharging my Blast Motion I get the urge to check my numbers on some old putters to compare.  But as soon as I pull the cover off one and try to putt I can’t even take the frickin putter back!  The backstroke is all over the place!  I’m now hyper-aware of how putters want to open/close back & through. It’s so odd now.

Haha, I was going to ask on here whether anyone had ever tried to go back to a non-LAB putter after really getting used to a LAB and loving it. I was curious if it was like not possible, which it sounds like it might not be!

Sam, how do you guys install the press grips? I wanted to experiment with a different grip on mine but it’s impossible to get off! Tried solvent, air compressor etc. I’d really rather not cut off a perfectly good $40 grip!

Edit to add: mine is a 2.M

It took about 25 minutes, lol!  Got back from our trip across the pond in '18 and was out of town at a Golf Galaxy figuring I'd hit all the new putters and dismiss them, which I did.  Then I saw an Odyssey that was on sale lurking in a corner that was a couple years old, picked it up and started making everything!  Bought it, used it since.  Thought I'd never replace it - now I'm working on a project with LaMont for my next "forever" putter!

I enjoyed my LAB, hope to try one of the newer versions one day, but I'll never stop ho-ing putters (and probably never practice my putting)!

Finally rolled mine this evening for about 30 min on my Perfect Practice.  Took a few strokes to get a feel, but really loving it.  Could tell the ones I pushed/pulled were from not lining the shaft up, or slightly too much grip pressure.

Once I got a feel for that I rolled it as solid as I have in a while.  Can’t wait to get it out on the course or practice green.

Just received mines, so far I love it. Question for the group, my miss seems to be a push right. Like it starts right and goes right. Happens maybe 1/10 balls, otherwise everything is straight. Any thoughts?  I am playing my ball a bit more forward than normal

Also, am I crazy or did they increase prices on custom putters recently?

My first putt with this putter was a dead shove right of right.  Coming from a toe-hang putter I guess my hands were trained to open with the putter on the backstroke and BAM! Right of the earth.  Missed a two foot birdie putt in front of my friends. 😬 let the heckling begin!

Part of the learning curve with this putter is unlearning the compensations we've engrained over the years playing with traditional putters. I’ve logged thousands of putts now over the winter months with stats on tempo, face angle, loft change etc.  I couldn’t be more comfortable moving forward into a new season.

(and yes, prices went up (as discussed a couple pages back on this thread))

Corollary:  worth mentioning, without a doubt, this putter is retraining my eyes with respect to alignment, neutralizing my hands/wrists/arms through the stroke and building my confidence. It’s like having a training aid built into an already fantastic putter.

At one point they were using Gorilla Glue, perhaps you got one of those.

I’ve been using my LAB DF 2.1 with the Press II 3° grip for the last few months with good results.  It’s very hard to go back to a normal putter after this.

I will admit, have lost a little confidence over the last few rounds and have been picking up different putters to bring to the practice green for some head to heads.  Most putts are great with my DF, but every now and then (like most on here) I experience a big push or pull out of nowhere.  I’ve scrutinized my aim, and am very cognizant of my ball position, as I’ve watched all the videos and read this thread 4-5 times.

I don’t know if it’s the tinkering in me or not, but I’m interested in possibly trying the Press 1.L or Press OG 3.0 to change it up.  I have typically used putter grips in the past that are a tad smaller in diameter than the Press II 3°, with good results.

Anyone have some experience switching to one of these?  What are the pros and cons?

Thanks

Very interested in this as well.  Posted similar question about the Press II 1.5* a few pages back that didn’t catch any wind.  It will most likely be my next putter grip to try out with the 2.1 if only to nip my curiosity although the Press 1.L is definitely on the radar.  I can always switch back.  My thoughts on the Press II 1.5* for ME:

1) Much smaller profile

2) Lighter weight allows me to feel the head weight more.

3) 1.5* of built in press allows me to naturally press a little as well to get to their magic 3* (if my gorilla trigonometry is correct, it comes out to just under 1” of manual press.)

Press1.L -

1) Smaller grip profile

2) Same weight

3) Same 3* press

(no brainer to try out)

OG3.0 -

1) Smaller grip profile

2) Much heavier grip.  Head will feel noticeably lighter.

3) Same 3* press

(weight change makes it a brainer decision. Add a 30g strip of lead tape along your existing grip to feel the difference (or use 6 nickels for 30g)

I’d like to see @labgolf post butt end pictures of all their grips side by side on their website to show differences as the listed dimensions don’t do them any justice considering the unique shapes of their designs.

I used to have that miss, as well as the opposing left of left, starts left and goes further left. Both are quite surprising and disconcerting. As Cliffy said, I believe that is due to how we are used to stroking very torquey putters. It takes awhile to learn to simply support the putter with your hands, rather than grip it, and to simply rock the shoulders and let the putter go where it wants to go without any manipulation from the hands. I think once you learn the feeling though, you will see those surprise misses go away. I have really started to get used to it and haven't had a miss like that in a long time.

On a related note, although I know the head is designed to stay square to whatever arc you use, whether it be more of a "straight back straight through" (although no such stroke is really possible)  or a barn door style strong arc, it does seem to me that this putter wants to arc a little bit in the backstroke when you just support it and let it do its thing, which I'm totally fine with as I like a slight arc and have never felt comfortable with more SBST stroke attempts. I wonder if some of the dead rights and dead lefts occur when one tries to manipulate it more SBST?? Anyone else have any thoughts on that?
