Is there any specific benefit to having your hands more underneath the grip with the OG?  Also, I would assume the putter would have to be reweighted if I decided to put the OG on it, since its 30g heavier? @labgolf

You may have some swing weighting issues but you also might like the lighter head feel. Promotes an even softer grip pressure. For me, when my hands are more underneath the grip my hands feel "stupid" which is a good thing for me and this tech. Gets them to where they can't control as effectively.

This is all correct except the 1.L is HUGE. As big/slightly bigger than a SS 3.0.

Hi Sam @labgolf please double check your website.  The OG 3 and 1.L show the same diameters.  Both say 1.7" top and 1.6" bottom.  For this reason, I thought the only difference between OG and 1.L was the weight.  Have a wonderful evening.

Received my putter yesterday and all good. First impressions which I think a lot say , is huge. Switched back from my normal putter back and forth and now the spider looks tiny. First putt was a push ( of course), played with ball position and was better. Went back to spider and straight in the Puttout cup WTF lol. I have noticed with the LAB , that when you place it down on floor , depending on ball position , it wants to sit slightly open , so I am making sure ball position it up near where  a fairway wood be for me. I found the weighting very good and is actually feeling heavier then my spider contrary to all other reports I have read. The sound is really good and no tinging like I have heard on youtube videos. Quite a solid thud. I am using different balls and are comparing to the other three putters I have in the room. So sound and weight a good positive .

One negative I do not like and maybe it is my OCD is the line on grip . I had to twist the grip to get the line straight as was quite wonky when it arrived. It is still not perfect at the bottom after the emblem and does play a bit on my eyes if I look at it. Trying not to is hard lol. I may take to blacking the line out but will see.

Otherwise good start. Cannot wait to get on course but that will have to wait as we have just gone into lockdown.

Looking good, Wolfman! Just a piece of unsolicited advice: I wouldn't go adjusting things that look wonky for at least a couple weeks. I feel like these putters are very different than what we are used to and there may be a reason that the tech looks wonky, even though it is exactly as it should be. Probably a lot of things will feel wonky for a bit. If it still feels wonky (wow, I am saying wonky a lot) after a few weeks, then maybe you might want to experiment with adjustments. But I'd say, for now, trust the tech and see what it has to teach you! It's fun unlocking the mysteries behind these putters...

Good luck and have fun!

@Wolfman44mine does not sit open when soled. It sits square. I think it’s supposed to.
I am pretty sure that’s where the lie angle balance comes from

Cheers not really adjusting anything . Just that the line on grip was like a 'S' bend, not straight at all. Just twisted grip by hand to straight line up , just like if you fit the golf pride align grips to your irons, they need to be straight.

As you can see by one of photos it is still a we bit off but no where near what it was. Which I can live with.

Will be interesting putting on a proper green .

Mine showed up today. I ordered a factory second and honestly can’t find a single blemish on it. It looks great. I got to mess around with it for 15 minutes and it’s really hard to not have your hands (my right in particular) influence the stroke. I’m looking forward to getting some time in with it and getting better.

I had the same feeling that wolfman posted (about the putter looking open at address) but, like Minarets, when the putter is soled it definitely sits square. Question, I know the 1 ball drill, does anyone have a surefire way to sole the putter every time (without the 1 ball drill)? I've found the feeling of feeling like im pushing the shaft directly into the ground, it seems pretty soled.

Thoughts?

I'm 4 days into my LAB putter assimilation programme! I've been using Exputt and Blast Motion in conjunction with a mirrored putting gate to help give feedback on my performance.

The exputt is fun to use and helps me practice  lag putts. In general I am putting better with the DF and getting better "scores" than before but still a way to go. The Exputt is suggesting that my putter path is out to in but my face angle is squarer so my launch is generally only slightly left. I'm not sure how accurate it is as it is slightly inconsistent with my results with the BM and putting gate.

I use the BM and putting gate together to give feedback on tempo and launch angle. To start with I was hitting the outside magnet regularly signifying a push to the right (at odds with what the exputt was saying). I tried moving the ball forward in the stance but it didn't improve. I used the BM video feature (very useful) and that showed that I wasn't isolating the lower part of my body well enough. Hopefully I've fixed that now and that has helped.

I saw the @labgolf comment that rather than "soling" the base you should try to keep the grip vertical which I've now incorporated into my setup. Doing that and lightening my grip even more has meant I'm sending more and more balls through the 0.5 degree gate without touching the magnets. So I feel I'm on the right track but not consistent enough yet.

I'm a high handicapper so I have to work on my putting but I'm hopeful that I'll get used to it over the next few weeks.

I'm finding the DF a bit of a voyage of discovery but, frustrating as it can be at times, solving the issues and understanding why  will help ingrain better habits and ultimately a good putting game.

Any suggestions of how to improve direction and consistency would be welcomed as I know many of you have gone through this learning phase.

@labgolf, interesting.. my putter is 66 degree lie angle, i dont know how the putter can truly be soled trying to get the grip to 90 degrees to the ground. Thoughts?

I think it's like 90 degrees to the ground on a left/right orientation (i.e. not tilted either toward or away from the target).  It won't be 90 degrees to the ground in an up/down orientation (like it will be tilted more toward your body because of the 66 degree lie angle, not 90 degrees straigt up in the air).

Hope that makes sense. Kind of hard to put in words.

When I realized how important it was to have my B.2 fully soled, I also experimented with the feel of pushing the shaft and putter head directly into the ground in order to ensure the putter head was flush to the ground. I found, however, that this introduced unnecessary tension and grip pressure into my hands at the set-up. I found what works better, at least with the B.2, is to gently hover the putter just off the ground, let it hang naturally. You'd have to manipulate the putter someway with your hands to get the toe or heel pointed upward. So just experiment with just barely supporting the putter/grip with your hands while just barely hovering the putter above the ground in order to get it to show you what the lie angle should be. Then you gently rest the putter on the ground. I think that will show you what the natural soled lie angle is, and it will have the added benefit of taking all the unnecessary tension out of your hands. Let us know if that works equally well for the DF!

That video just made my day! Don't know why but it got me laughing.

It does appear something is off...maybe some loose epoxy or something. Whatever it is, it would drive me nuts.

It does drive me nuts. That’s why I was asking.

I just sort of rock it back and forth on the heel and toe 1 or 2 times till it feels right
