Avoid Augustine Golf Club- Stafford Virginia

I played in a charity golf tournament Friday at Augustine Golf Club in Stafford VA. That place is the worst course I have ever played. They obviously have zero pride in the course since they didn't bother to rake the bunkers that were washed out from rain the past few weeks. I would call it a Dog track but that's offensive to dog tracks. Avoid this course. The greens were chewed up and appear to have been infected with fungus and died . I had limited interaction with the staff but the cart girl was nice and the ranger than drove by a few times and waved seemed nice. That's all I can say nice .

It's a shame because it used to be in phenomenal condition

The layout was nice but clearly they gave up on maintaining the course. It was probably the worst conditioned course I have played in the 25 years I've played golf.

In their defense, this has happened to several local courses. Maybe some sort of grass disease, or abnormal weather conditions?

Raking bunkers has zero to do with the rest of the course so that's why I said they gave up and didn't attempt to present a reasonable product. I will never return and that's what they get for poor effort or better stated ZERO Effort. I get invited to many Charity Tournaments in the MD , VA area and for an example River Creek 3 times in 2019 and although it's a Private course it's in great shape every time I play it.
