Titleist Linksmaster Members Bag- In Hand Pics

Recommended Posts

Got my Linksmaster Members bag today.

First impressions are great. Super well built and high quality fixtures. Fabric looks like leather, but softer to the touch. Seems like it will be way to keep clean

it’s significantly smaller than the Sun Mountain 4.5 I’ve been carrying, but it fits everything I need comfortably. Club tangle isn’t a huge issue, but it’s not quite as easy getting clubs in and out as the 4.5 (which I expected given the size difference)

I haven’t played a round with it yet, but loaded it up and it seems well balanced and carries well.

Not cheap, but seems to be pretty good value for money in my book

As a caddy, the weight of a bag isn't really a problem (assuming they're within 2-4 lbs of each other). Everyone is obsessed with weight, but to me it comes second to comfort and balance of the bag. My issue with them is they always sit at a weird angle instead of sitting flat against the back/hip. Last round I moved around the straps and experimented with clipping them to different loops, with very little success. Whenever I double the most comfortable bag does on my left side. The linksmaster almost always goes on the right. IMO it's Ping >>> Sun Mountain > Titleist.

Just adding: I've gamed the bag a couple of times and my one gripe is the bottle pocket on the members bag. Doesn't seem to fit anything really well, despite being quite large. Perhaps it's not meant for bottles and that's where I've gone wrong. Apart from that though, literally the best bag I've used. Looks great, decently light, and fully functional.

  • 2 weeks later...

I’ve had mine for a few weeks and do really like it. As mentioned, water bottle slot is a tad small so for those with big flasks may be a tight fit. I really like the 3 way divider l. The off white color looks amazing, but probably not as practical as a darker color.

The bag is definitely heavier, however the only time I really noticed was playing Bethpage Black from the blues; was drained once I got home.

In doing my research, is there a difference in material of the white vs the black? It looks as if the black/hunter green/navy/slate are more of a "grainy" leather-like look vs a smoother look in the white. My club only has the white/navy in so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I had the bag for about 2 months now, and it's great.

I mean, if I was looking for a super light weight bag, I wouldn't even consider this. It's never gonna be lighter or even the same weight as the Stadry (It's the same design except for 1 pocket). Is it heavy? Of course not. It's a small bag. If I wanted a super light bag to carry all the time, I would just get Jones.

I don't understand why the weight is such a big issue for some. It's a light weight bag for having a leather look. Imagine how heavy your bag would be if it was full leather.

Also, if the material was thinner, I wouldn't be happy with the stretches it would make near the handle and such, so I'm very happy with the material overall.

It is not flexible though, so it does make that water bottle pocket almost unusable like nicklanimator mentioned. You probably can fit the disposable plastic bottle water you buy, but not your own reusable bottles.

I am considering getting one of these, since a few clubs around me have access to the bags. I haven't previously carried, but have found a stand bag will be more convenient for driving range/practice duties than my heavy duty cart bag. I just want to know, have any issues been found with the synthetic leather when being strapped into a pull buggy?

I own two Titleist bags (old Players 4, new Hybrid 5) with the same water bottle pocket design and it's terrible. If you put anything in the lower pocket, it blocks the water bottle pocket. You have to use that pocket for only gloves or something like that. Sun Mountain's design that starts higher on the pocket is better, and Ping's design that is outside of that side pocket is better too. It's one thing I wish they'd change about Titleist bags.
