I had one ordered but cancelled before shipment. Got thinking I need to take my Epic Flash 3 wood to 16 first, try it , and then convince myself that doesn’t work.

Hey guys just got a 17 degree super hybrid yesterday (turned down to 16 degrees). I got to take it to the range, but I was hitting really old range balls into a 20 mile an hour wind, so I’m not really sure what to expect yet. I found it carrying about 230-235, so probably around 250 under normal conditions and rolling out to 260-270. I was hoping for a little lower ball flight, as I normally hit the ball very high, this club included, but as long as it’s still carrying I’m fine with it. I typically hit a nice draw (sometimes a hook), so I already like that this thing doesn’t turn over nearly as much. I might even be able to hit a fade from time to time.

Just getting used to making consistent contact with it, as some shots really jumped off the club face. One thing I was curious about is how does it react off the heel or toe? I know some clubs are more forgiving on a certain are of the club face than others. I would think that it’s pretty forgiving off the toe as it has the high toe design. I tried to test this out yesterday but I couldn’t get a real good feel for it. Really curious if anyone has an idea where to hit it on the face for optimal performance (other than dead center of course). Thanks.

I'm going to cut an inch off the shaft to see if that will help me find the center of the face more.

Just got the 17*. Hit it at the range vs my EFSZ 15* & the super hybrid went at least 10 yards further. Need to play a round with it.

I have had two outing now with the 17 degree one and the stock shaft. I am not overly thrilled with it so far. It is okay but I really do not see the fairway wood like distance claim. Don't get me wrong at 17 degree loft it gets the ball out there fine. Its around 20 yards short of my 5 wood. So the fairway replacement thing is not a real outcome for me. The club is fine and it looks great the feel/sound is fine and I have no issues hitting it in the middle. Its just not blowing me away with distance for a hybrid. I will say its going to stay in the bag and i am going to tinker with the settings and see if I can get more out of it. I will say if you are the fence about grabbing one of these don't hesitate as they are great looking and sound/feel is good. Even if you get only similar distance to your current hybrid the bigger head seems to help the dreaded snap hooks some ppl find with hybrids.

I am looking at these to replace my 5 wood. Came from the TXG review and Ian stated someone who is really shallow this may be good for them which fits me (per my instructor) My miss with my fairway woods tends to be a drop kick. I game a 13.5* fairway wood I hit mostly off the tee aside from best ball tourneys. I hit my 5 wood into most par 5s. My current 5 wood is a Rogue. Was thinking about getting a 17* and loft it up vs loft down the 20*. Curious what loft others have used for their 5 wood. I carry my 5 wood about 220 225.

I am always stuck between 19* hybrid and 18* 5 wood and when I have the hybrid, need the 5 wood, never fails, this would be closer to 5 wood and can choke down and take some off of it easily!!

I cut the shaft down a couple inches and am playing it like an iron. It's getting out to the 240-250 range for me now and is a pretty consistent little fade.

I needed a layup fairway finder and after a lot of tweaks, this might be it.

Saw these went up on CPO and snagged a 20.  Hit my buddy's a month ago - he had a 23 that he cut down 3/4" and it played like a 200 yard 7 iron.  I'm hoping I can get a good 200 yard carry from the 20 and that it'll be a nice off the tee club and position club.  Yay CPO!

Thank you for the heads up! Just grabbed a 20 degree with an AD-DI.

Easily the best club I've ever had in this slot of my bag. Having tried various 5 woods and hybrids, its the best of both worlds by far. If you're considering it, buy one. I happen to use the 20* with an AD-DI 95 playing at 40". Easily flights high like a 5 wood, and can be manipulated like a hybrid due to the shorter shaft imo.

Had it in my bag yesterday and pulled it out twice, once out of rough & 2nd time from the fairway. Out of the rough was just an ok hit (slightly fat), but my FW shot was very good, went where I aimed and the right distance. Still don’t like the size compared to my 0317 17* (not longer either). A good backup for now, but certainly not a 3W replacement for me.

The Callaway Super Hybrid is the head size that fairway woods used to be, so I think it makes sense to use the Super Hybrid from lies suitable for a fairway wood shot. From sloped, grassy, or other less than ideal lies, I think a head size smaller than the SH makes good sense.

This club legit took strokes off my game in only 3 rounds. I used to always tense up with my driving iron on par 5s and tight holes and I’d hit thin BS shots trying to muscle the club. It’s just effortless distance with the thing, stops quick enough. Much better than a utility, by far the most confidence inspiring club in my bag. It truly delivers, stock Tensei is no joke either, very nice!

Wow if I wasn't already so impressed with the 2 Hybrids that I just recently bought I might be interested in these. My Tour Edge Exotics EXS 220 17* and 19* with HZRD Black have been the easiest ever to hit hybrid that I have ever owned. Very long and forgiving for me. I thought about the B21 hybrids to match my driver and 3W as I love those but their hybrids look so hideous with that offset. $319 is pretty stiff but if it works it's well worth it. My Tour Edge really works for me and almost half the price. These might be for the better players as I can't even hit my driver that far Lol!

I just noticed my 20 degree Super Hybrid has a rattle inside the head. Unscrewed the weight but whatever is rattling around will not fall out. Anyone else have this issue?

I took it to my local golf shop & they are sending it back to Callaway. Assuming they will just replace it with another head. I've probably only hit it about a dozen times. Nothing but ordinary swings.

I bought the Exs 220 25* and it is awesome, amazing feel and sound, automatic. Really funky head shape that grows on you. thinking of adding 19* and then a Super Hybrid 17* for Straight distance off the deck and tee box.

both at 17* and playing at 41.5", would this be longer than the Great Big Bertha 5 wood I currently game?

Trying to decide if i should reshaft the 5 wood shorter (in the -1 D setting) with a Kuro Kage Black i have laying around or import a super hybrid (play it in the S N setting). I hear that the Tensei orange is great.

For me, I seem to hit the 17 degree further than the same loft in a wood due to in spinning less. I play a wood over it though because of the additional spin and height.

I know this is a bit of “if it fits your game” type of club, but picked on up on CPO (they are a steal now) and couldn’t be happier. I had been playing a PXG gen 2 5 wood with weight up front and a Tensei pro blue 75 shaft. It was solid off the tee and from great lies but I could turn it over to quick and it just had the same challenges I’ve had with every fairway wood. The Super is a weapon—incredibly easy to hit off the tee and in roughly the same ballpark as the the PXG with more height at 17* and less side spin. Love the stock shaft and extra weight. It’s prob less than .5 shorter in length but the head looks like an ideal blend of a hybrid and old school fw.

My next club down is a 22 Sim max (no slouch itself) with a tensei white 90 and I’m probably seeing an extra 15-20 carry over that with a flatter ball flight.

Bringing this bad boy back to life.  Anyone still gaming the Super Hybrid?  I've all but totally taken the 3w out of the bag as it only hurts me usually.  Have a SIM2 17* hybrid in the bag now, but if this might be a little higher launching and longer it might be worth a go just to try out.

I have the 17* Super Hybrid set at 16* with a Ventus blue and it replaced my 3 wood.
