I went to my local 2nd Swing in Columbia, MD this afternoon. They had a few of the CEL bags in stock. Unfortunately my first impression of the bag was not favorable. Maybe it’s just the ultra lightweight material, which I hope is the case, but the bag actually seemed sort of cheap and flimsy. I like the lightweight feel, but the bag overall was less than I was hoping.

I still would like to hear from anyone else who has seen or used the CEL. But unless someone can convince me otherwise, it would be tough to replace my older L8 bag with the CEL.

Got my CEL bag and new i210s today :)

 

Bag is super light loaded. The straps are very thin though.

Looks good. How long did i210s take after ordering? I ordered some 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything since.

I ordered the afternoon of 1/8. So 12 days to Indiana which isn't bad.

I honestly don't know. I contacted them about a possible return but still trying to make up my mind. I saw the Hoofer lite in person at PGASS and loved it. Felt light enough even though it is supposed to be 5 lb.

 

The only thing I don't like about the CEL is the dividers have the same material like the SM bags do. The hollow mesh stuff. It doesn't hold up well. The hoofer lite has the heavier material in the top like the standard hoofer does and is quite durable.

I got that same feeling with the sun mountain 2.5+, kind of comes with the super light territory. Looks like I’ll be looking at hoofer lite or the hoofer tour if that ever comes

Ok I have decided to swap the CEL for a Hoofer lite. After loading the bag up and handling it a few times tonight I started seeing a little leg droop. There is no way to adjust the leg tension on this bag. The legs also don't extend out as far as the hoofers typically do. I love the weight of the bag but concerned about the durability and potential leg issues. I hate having to go back to a slightly heavier bag though.

Have you tried the Sun Mountain 2.5+? I haven't seen the CEL in person, but the 2.5+ is very well made for such a lightweight bag. I've had no issues at all, so far as durable as any bag I've had. Granted, I take good care of it and don't play a ton.

I have not tried the 2.5+ but have thought about it. The material looks very thin. I am worried about wear during those times that I ride.

I've seen 0 wear from cart use. It's made with high strength denier material that seems scratch and tear resistant. The only parts that show wear from riding is where the legs scratch up against the cart, but that happens with every stand bag.

The bag looks great, but as you say a little flimsy perhaps.

I'd be concerned about it on a windy day I think, and going on what you've said about the materials; Hoofer Lite for me this year too.

I'm sorry to hear this, especially because mine hasn't even arrived yet. But, I'm gonna try and keep an open mind when it arrives and see how I like it. I assume / hope the return process will be relatively painless?

Anyone tried to put a double strap on the new L8? It’s the only thing stopping me from ordering one.

I got the black hoofer lite and it's really nice. A little heavy and definitely seems more durable. Might exchange it for the royal blue :)

Is it just me or does the bag look short? Looks like the clubs are coming way out of the bag. Is that just the photo? Do you play extra length clubs?

Went to BIRMINGHAM PGASS tonight while here for business and was kinda disappointed in the Ping bags. Have been waiting to see them as that was my hope for new bag. They only had Hoofer and Hoofer lites no CEL. the bags look almost unstructured with the new material. Like the material sags everywhere.

I liked the hoofer lite in white blue and yellow, but I’m. Tar Heel, can’t have those Michigan colors.

Just picked up the Hoofer Lite to replace my old Titleist Players 4, it strikes a nice balance between being slimmed down but still having a lot of functional storage and the garment pocket is much better than my previous bag. Also would say that the straps are much improved from my prior Hoofer bags in terms of comfort as well.

First thing I thought of when I saw this colorway was, Go Blue! My dad has been thinking of getting a new bag and has wanted a Michigan logo ping bag. This is definitely the closest I have seen, other than a team bag.

I actually think that I like that bag more than I would if were a team logo bag. I definitely like it better than the design of the four team bags (Florida State, Arizona, Texas & Alabama) that they do sell (but that just may be my Wolverine bias showing through).
