Can we just start a thread dedicated to those who want to rag on PXG so the rest of us can enjoy the on-topic discussions?

I have 2 full sets of their Gen 2 irons and I don’t care what people think. I don’t ever talk about what someone else buys (home, car, watch, etc). Sometimes I might be a little envious but I don’t

Thanks guys, appreciate your comments. My son is in the Air Force and daughter (hopefully) heading to West Point. We love America and our Military branches. Love this site and the great people on her

Exactly....just what I found in late 2015 when I was using the new Titleist T-MB hollow head irons. Cast from SS and hollow the T-MB was hard/harsh feeling. That is when I tried three of the new Gen1 PXG 0311T irons....WOW! Night and day difference. PXG being forged and with a closed/filled cavity was a major improvement...have not hit the i500 but from what you said I expect the same issue. I will never buy another closed cavity iron that is hollow unless it has something inside to kill the vibration/sound.

I'm not skilled enough to be playing the T's, so I didn't even try them in my fitting. I did come from the Gen2 XF to the Gen3P. Since I've had the XF, i've been dilligently practicing, taking lessons and so the goal of getting into the Gen3 P was to tigten my dispersion and see if I needed a different shaft. the shaft in my Gen2XF was the ProModus120 stiff and now, in my Gen3P I'm in an Elevate Tour stiff shaft. I'm not a fan of the elevate shaft giving me so much height but the ball sure stops on a dime on greens. I'm getting roughly the same distance going from Gen2 to gen 3, if not a yard or 2 more. I did hit a 7 iron 200 yards on a hole during a round. I got so excited because I hit it so pure, but then I also realized there was a strong wind behind me so it was more the tailwind on the ball than my swing. Regardless, the dispersion on my Gen3P is tighter, distance is fine and the feel is "softer" than the gen2.

Have to disagree here. Went and hit both the forged and the milled a week ago before I ended up with the milled. I’m pretty cool with the guy I see at PXG’s HQ now because I got fitted for my entire bag from him on three separate trips, so when I went in for my wedge fitting we had an entire hour allocated to just the wedges, so I was able to swing each about 30-40 times. My backspin averaged maybe 2000rpm higher with the milled wedge. Also liked the increased high toe weight a lot more.

That Mitsubishi shaft is one of the ones i had asked them to send to me. Unfortunately, it wasn't included. I really wished i could have tried that one. Unfortunately, the promotion ends tomorrow.

I hit balls today and played 9 holes. I am probably going to go with the SteelFibers - they just feel like home to me. The Accura shaft produced some very nice shots when hit solid - probably longer than the SF's. Misses seemed more harsh.

well I took advantage, have clubs on order with my Oban shafts that I got fit into a few times. 2 different fitters at 2 different places put me into them (maybe it was the money?) but either way, they work great. And there was a discount where I bought them too above the PXG discount, so I had to take advantage. I've hit the 0311T once and after 3 swings had to hand it back to the fitter so I didn't impulse buy right on the spot. Rather.. I did it a few days ago.. so here's to hoping things open up by mid-May to get the season started!

MNG compares all three of the new GEN3 irons....should give you some idea on each for performance and feel.

Hero pricing extended through April according to PXG instagram.

30 more days for me to weigh the P vs the T vs combo vs not buy.

I gave myself until 4pm today to pull the trigger, but now will hold off.

Nope, bought through a 3rd party.

and no, I didn’t hit the P. I saw the club head and it looked similar in offset to the Apex line, and for me I just don’t make good compressive swings with good shaft lean with offset of that amount in the 6-8. So I just went with the T

Maybe. I am hoping the Gen 3 pricing goes lower for the Hero program. Gen 2’s were $299, so would thing Gen 3’s would go at least that price. For Hero pricing Gen 2’s are half the cost of Gen 3’s right now and of course really want the Gen 3’s. In this market, they may have to go lower, as can’t imagine this stuff is selling.

I didn't like the look of the P's, went w/ the T's and haven't regretted it one bit. I hit the T's, P's and XP's in my fit and couldn't do the wide soles/top lines of the P's and XP's. I have them in a groove right now, playing some of the best golf of my life. Hopefully my club doesn't shut down. If you're torn between T's and P's but like the looks of the T's at address just power spec them to match the P's lofts.

It's weird - the T's seem super forgiving in terms of performance, however they also feel like they have a relatively small sweet spot. They look really good at address, but I wouldn't order them without hitting them if you aren't a fan of small heads.

I agree with your perspective. Part of my reasoning for switching to the T's is the smaller head size. I love the head size of my i500's but I want the softer feel and better sound of the Gen 3's. I didnt realize how much thicker the P's were until I set them side by side with my i500's. Length is about the same, but the i500's are definitely thinner, and it's really not close.
