Alphard eWheels V2 coming

I guess I missed the deal too. I just joined WRX and didn't realize they were coming out with V2. I jumped in to a V1 when they first came out. Been pretty happy with it. Just wish it had more juice to pull me up the hills sometimes, lol. As for wheelie bars, I don't know how needed they are. I have a Rovic with the pivoting wheel and it's only tipped back once and it was going over something pretty steep. I might get a V2 and sell my V1, always nice to get the new tech

Might be better to wait till the Canadian distributor has them for me. The Indiegogo deal wants another $80 CAD shipping on top. The thing that bothers me more is if there are any issues and I have to send it back and shipping costs would soon add up. When I had a problem with my V1 they covered all the shipping costs

I have the Stewart Golf X9 follow and the bluetooth tracking works great and is very accurate.

Not sure why the designer had to use a corded tether as clearly there already exists a method using bluetooth that works.

Now if he meant finding a tracking method at a reasonable cost then it makes sense.

BTW I am not a "hater" of the e-wheels I think it is an excellent product and should take out a lot of the other "power" cart competitors.

I played a round last year with a friend's e-wheels attached to a Rovic and it was great.

The biggest complaint he had was the remote. The back plate did not hold the batteries tight so he had to insert a small bit of foam and then wrapped electrical tape around the remote to hold the batteries down. He is an engineer so he had all sorts of ideas to improve this ........

All this at 1/3 of the costs of my X9.

You will benefit a lot from having a swivel mounted cart. Either the Rovic RV1S, Alphard Omni, Caddytek Swivel, or Bagboy Tri-Swivel. Also, when I got my V1, I wanted a cart just for the eWheels, because I do still do 9-holes with pushing my Speed Cart. The bracket installation is reversible, but not something you will want to do if you might want to push here or there.

The Tour Trek 360 (from Dicks) is a rebranded Caddytek swivel - with a little different console, as is the Alphard Omni.

Alphard is offereing a mod to the Clicgear 3.x carts, which would be ok too, but if you're buying a new cart specifically for the eWheels, then get a swivel (which is what Alphard recommends on the funding FAQ page on Indigogo).

The swivels by their design, will move the center of balance more forward, and I have the Rovic, which the eWheels' bracket moves the rear wheels even further back, shifting even more weight forward. The result being is that it is harder to tip than a regular push cart. A regular push cart keeps the center of gravity further back so the cart is lighter to tilt up and steer. My RV1S with the eWheels is NOT easy to tilt up. Where many need wheelie bars before they go up hills, I can go straight up most tee boxes and other hills without worrying about a tip - and I don't have wheelie bars. The only tip I have had was running the front wheel over a rake I didn't see and having the left rear wheel fall into a bunker. I doubt a wheelie bar would have saved the cart on that one.

Alphard's Omni cart ($99 during the funding campaign) - is an outstanding deal - They are able to offer it at that price because it will come without the back wheels and the brake, which you remove from any other cart when you install the bracket. And the Omni cart comes with the brackets installed - which will save you 20-40 minutes of bracket installation.

I had that issue with my remote this past weekend. 12 rounds in and this was the first issue, and I thought the batteries were dying. Had my wife drive to the club to bring me batteries on 9. When I got home, found my original batteries still had a full charge. The door doesn't open, because I have the rubber cover on it, but the AAA lithiums do seem like they may not be lined up quite correctly. The V2 remote is a sealed unit which is rechargeable.

I'm in on the V2 and looking forward to it. My wife and I both have 3.5s and we'll use the V2 on one which allows me to use it playing by myself, then she can use it when playing together and I'll push the other which I'm fine with. Thanks for all the input and looks like some solid improvements from the V1..

Is anyone concerned about contributing to a funding project with no guarantee of actually getting the cart or their money back? I'm not trolling on this. I ordered it as well as the retrofit wheel kit for the Clicgear 3.5+. BUT, now I'm wondering if it's a for sure thing. Thoughts?

I understand your trepidation if this is your first crowd funding campaign. I was in on the kickstarter for the V1 and similar thoughts crossed my mind at times. But Alphard Golf came through as promised, though a bit delayed, and followed it up with excellent customer service. I'm in for the V2 and looking forward to the upgrades.

The battery in V1 does drain a little quicker in colder temperatures - under 50 degrees. But it will still make it 18 holes on my home course which is very hilly.

I've been playing in the 40s for the last couple of months with no issues at all. I do find that it saves a bit of battery when you "assist" the cart up steep hills. I take some pressure off of the eWheels by "slightly" pushing it up steep hills. I play on a very hill course....by the time I'm done, the second light is blinking.

Does anyone know if they are using the same motors for the V2 as the V1 ? I know the spec says the motors on the V1 are brushless and gearless but they must still have bearings and I am wondering if they can be replaced when they get loose. I just put new wheel bearings in my 10 year old Sun Mountain V1 pushcart, which is my backup unit for when there's lots of rain (like January, lol) Then Friday I noticed the bearings feel a little rough and loose in my V1 that I got in April.

It may be a little more since the campaign ended - I think it is close to a 30% discount now.

Got the survey/info request about 10 days ago to identify my current cart and add any accessories which I did and made the additional payment for those then. Nothing since then but would expect some sort of small delay just based on the current COVID situation. They've been good communicating with any updates and hope we see some sort of shipping timeline soon..

How much was it during ther campaign? I have v1 and was hesitant to buy another one. But does v2 drive straight without me keep pushing left and right? I don't want to keep locking the front wheel to go straight with my rovic.

The V2 has gyroscopes that should help it track straighter - plus it has a tether that allows the cart to follow you.

The price includes the brackets for your particular cart. I do not know if it still includes the wheelie bars or upgraded battery.
