Kauai in December

Greetings all I'm headed out to Kauai for 10 days mid December. I was wondering if we have any locals lurking that could make a few recommendations this time of year. I will be bringing my clubs and a permission slip to play three of the 10 days :) I know one of those days i'm going to head to Wailua but I was looking for a nice place for lessons(for the wife) and a course in a decent shape this time of year.

Not a local but go every year.

If you are staying south, Poipu Bay has some lesson packages, and also offers some other play options like 14 holes or 9. I'm sure it's on their website but too lazy to look. Course is always in great shape.

If you are north, Makai is your best bet. Drive by the Prince course and try to find out if they are ever going to open again.

Are you still here? I head back Friday night. Ocean course truly has been the best. Poipu was OK (also sloppy mess) wind was blowing at 35 to 40..... Makai was a sloppy mess (cart path only) still in good shape. Not a fan of the seaside paspalm greens. I am play ocean course twice on this trip. Tifeagle greens are damn near perfect. Front had some decent holes. The back was down right incredible. If you want to join another wrxer let me know. Like I said Friday is my last day.

The prince course is open..... Persay. If you own a 10 million dollar lot there lol. The owners are trying to figure out what to do. There is still done damaged holes from all the rain. They were out mowing it today when I went and played makai. I stopped by the clubhouse and it is still all closed but walked down left to see the range and first tee box. Still looks really really really good.

Thanks for getting back to me, and sorry for the delay. Due to an injury i wasn’t able to get out there. :(

i was able to convince the wife to do a lesson at the ocean course. We will see if that interest carries over to the spring.
