Anyone catch his flash sale today 7/31? Had 10 one piece flow necks with full face copper insert. Absolutely beautiful pieces, can't imagine what those will go for on the secondary market.

Nice looking putters but I can't get on board with having to be on IG or anything else just to look at somebody's product. Too many other great putter companies make it easier for us "old timers"

I get what you're saying and for some it can be annoying. But Instagram is great for small up and coming companies, just post your work often and it will take off especially in the golf world. There are many companies with great putters but never post and never communicate and just get no where. Even some of the older fellows like Clay Long, Jim Butler, Larry Bobka, LaMont Mann, Byron Morgan, etc are all posting on Instagram and selling putters that way.

Close friend of mine is at 20 weeks. I only buy his stuff when it’s in stock.

I just don't understand stuff like this. I guess these are supposed to be ball markers. But if you ask me he took old putters and sliced them up into useless chunks of steel. And now the putters are ruined. 

 

I posted to their IG and said they would have been better off just donating the putters to some local junior golfers. They deleted my comment.

For the machinists-turned-putter-maker I think the best sense business model is to produce whichever models/designs they choose and then sell online the finished putter for $500 to $1,000.

For the consumers who want to order their own custom spec putter make the price $5,000 to $7,000. This higher price would reduce the number of potential "custom customers"  and the putter maker could then take the time to hand hold those customers, respond quickly to their email messages, check and double check the ordered specs  etc...

This makes sense. All of Olson’s flash sales and Black Friday putters basically sell out right away. The Black Friday putters were really nice “custom” pieces, but he just decided himself what the “custom” features were on the finished putters. I think they sold for between $1k and $3k. He could just keep making pieces to sell at regular intervals, and if you want a true custom you would need to pony up. It may be hard to change his business model now though, especially if he’s succeeding with the current model.

Really? He did something fun and original by providing a custom ball maker for his customers (at no additional charge). The putters that he cut up were "his" which he has said in the past that he only plays putters that have defects and are rejected. Meaning that he would not want them being played by anyone as it would be a poor reflection of his work/brand. Rather than scraping them he actually did something creative.

Those 2 with mother of pearl he released yesterday were fantastic. The welded "O" on the face of the lefty was awesome, along with the hammered stainless neck on a carbon body.

You just need to respond in .5 seconds to get one.

 

I'm pretty sure people just had their message already typed out and randomly picked left or right before even seeing the putters. Only way it makes sense that they sold out that fast.

Definitely wasn’t in the market for any putter but once I saw it, it was pretty much a green light to try. Was really surprised to be able to complete the transaction knowing how quick he sells out.

I ordered a putter from him last week. I was told 7 months for it to be complete. Hope it comes sooner. From the look of his IG it appears that he tries and makes one putter a day. The craftsmanship is second to none. Hope it comes just how I imagine it.

Ok cool that is the best. I had one of his flash sale putters and the quality is second to none! I am sure it will be worth the wait!

Good luck!  Amazing putters but I gave up after 8 months and no communication.  I finally just pulled the plug and then got hit with a cancellation fee.  

 

Hopefully he improves on his processes.  The wait would have been a lot easier to swallow if there was at the very least periodic updates/communication.
