Not good. I don’t like hearing he’s been charging a cancellation fee when it’s not previously disclosed.

Heard nothing until i emailed him 4 months after my order in April.  Then heard nothing again until a week ago when I reached out regarding cancellation.  
 

Unfortunate because huge fan of his work.

I've always had good luck on instagram with him. I would try that if you decide to give him another shot. His work is unreal. Everybody loves Lamb but I love olson lol

Lamb does good work too if you can put up with the high school games.  Hopefully Olson is not a chip off the same block.

Everything I've read is that they hate he doesn't put out more putters or he comes across as arrogant, but I've never seen someone hate on his actual putters.

Putters are fine, like everyone else some I like, some I don't. But the total package is what I was talking about.

Boy I'm glad I glanced at this. Seems like a decent guy, proof that a lot of photos can mislead information. Some of the mill work is excellent, some of it is actually noticeably poor. In this day you'll need to be customer service first, rather than growth chart which they unfortunately are forced into. 

 

All the best to both us buyers and vendors, but there's still a sizeable gap between the relationship when they grow via social.

So he released a "stock model" the other day, it's his Anser 2 style, 345g, loft 3, lie 70 and you pick you length. Price 750. Kinda steep unless it's your exact setup. But seems like it's going to be a series so if waiting or paying for a custom is not what someone wants to do maybe waiting for a stock series is a better option for less if you really want an Olson?

 

I've noticed a few boutique putter makers doing this, wonder if others will follow along.

The "stock" head is a good idea, but for $750 I feel like you have to give people their choice of alignment aid. And lie angle. I'm hoping more companies like Olson, Cody James, Lamb, etc. start doing more stock heads. There are lots of potential buyers (like me) who don't really care about all the tricked-out custom stuff. In fact I think some of it looks downright awful.

I agree. I would rock a $750 smooth face, naked Olson. But I'm not willing to pay $1500 for a custom basic putter. Weld neck and maybe tismascus is about as far as I could ever go but some stuff from any of those mentioned just take it way over the top.

I'm picking up a stock Logan. Has pretty much all my wants and although its 70 lie, adjusting it to my preferred 71.5 is not an issue.  I really like his tricked out putters but being less into the collecting game now,  I don't want to drop 2K plus for one but his work looks lovely and the Stock series looks like it has all the attention to detail less the exotic frills.

This arrived today.  Super stoked.  Really high quality milling and finishing.  Light face mill which is great to avoid that mushy feel.

 

Will install a NS Pro XXIP shaft and Rosemark grip tomorrow.

Agree times a thousand... give me customization in want matters. Alignment aid and length. That in a nice milled putter and you’ve got a great combo

No way I would do business with Olsen, too many other good options from guys who actually respect their customers hard earned money.

 

Really too bad as he makes good stuff, just a crap shoot if you get what you asked for after spending a ton of money.
