As someone who also chronically suffers from golfers elbow - I really appreciate this thread!

1) I already made the switch to graphite shafts a few years ago,

2) I just rec'd and have started working with the TheraBand.

3) I'll start looking into King Brands and massage options.

4) I'm willing to make my grip a bit stronger, but not quite "strong" yet.

Hopefully, these, or some combination of these will help my elbows!

The list u have so far is excellent. If u get the package from Kings Brand, get both bands, also depending on your budget a Percussion Massager will help and for grip strength and rehab, a captains of Crush gripper. Finally, stop hitting balls at the first sign of tenderness, don't push it because u paid for a large bucket or u think "no pain, no gain" Think of it as a radiator on your car, if it gets to red, pull over, no need to push it until it boils over.

Tried the nuefit yesterday and got some amazing relief already. I’m going to be going 2-3x per week for 4-6 weeks. Really looking forward to seeing if this is a long term solution. Have a good feeling about it

My problem is my elbows are always tender. They don't hurt while I'm swinging - but I feel it afterwards.

I battled it for almost two years. Didn't go away until I shallowed my swing. Then, it went completely away. I tried everything until then - PT, r.i.c.e., etc. It sucks, I know. And, in my case, I needed to shallow my swing anyway...

Theraband - it takes a little while but works!

As a preventive action I swapped out my old KBS steel shafts for all Fujikura Pro's in my signature. They are the best iron shafts I have ever owned.

Swing faults can play a major role in tennis and golfers elbow. It was for me as I tended to stall my rotation forcing my arms to straighten at impact which puts a TON of stress on the extensors. I worked with Iteach to fix this issue and add more rotation and I can literally feel when i revert back and put that stress on the tendon.

 

 

As for the Theraband - yes it helps a lot but if you have a tear be careful as it can make it much worse. See a doc and get an MRI.

I had it so bad last summer I couldn't pick up a cup of coffee in the morning without significant pain. Went online, saw this, and did ONLY the exercise at 3:15ish in this video. I've battled with tennis elbow several times and this last bout was due to bowling (my winter activity) which carried over into the spring and summer. For most, tennis elbow is an inflammation of the forearm muscles. Due to the inflammation, the muscle pulls on the tendon creating the sensation of pain you feel...basically the muscle is overworked and can't do it's job so it lets the tendon take the impact.

 

There is no quick remedy. Letting it rest is essential. The Theraband (I own one), forearm exercises, stretches all will help, but until the muscle can heal and loosen up, the tennis elbow will be a reoccurring theme. As others have suggested...deep tissue massages or needling can also help the muscle heal a bit quicker, but you'll still need to lay off the activity causing the pain for a bit. I went to a physical therapist to address it (and be certain I didn't have a more serious issue) and laying off the activity, needling, massages and some exercises were all the necessary requirements to get rid of my tennis elbow.

A couple years ago I had a terrible case of golfer's elbow in both arms. I would ice them after every round. Nothing seemed to be working and I thought about getting stem cells in both of my arms to alleviate the problem. Then Winter came a long and I went back to the gym for my almost daily workouts. I had read that the problem is caused by a muscle imbalance between the upper and lower forearms so I decided to do some curls for the forearms and tricep curls for the lower forearms. I did this pretty religiously for a few months until Spring rolled around. Since then, I've never had an issue with pain in my elbows.

BTW, when I first went back to the gym, doing curls did seem to aggravate my elbows, but eventually, it all cleared up and now there is no pain no matter how much weight I use or how much golf I play.

I had terrible service elbow issues for 2-3 years, tried virtually every band, stretching exercise and crazy internet suggestions but nothing worked. From my limited medical knowledge, my right elbow had a detached muscle which explained my pain level and also explained why bands or other treatments other than surgery would not wok here.

Opted for surgery for right elbow. Did this where they literally tie the the detached muscle to the bone. It was microscopic surgery but rehab still took 3-4 months and a bit painful.

second surgery was a couple years later on left elbow. Opted for something called the FAST procedure and it was much less invasive than right elbow. Basically used some instrument to clean out damaged tissue and put some of my own blood platelets in there to speed the healing.

Recovery time w the FAST procedure was MUCH quicker and much less painful. Also sanctioned by the Mayo Clinic which is how I found out about it.

if I were in your shoes, I would stop ALL hitting off Matts, start using graphite, massage the crap out of the injury to increase blood flow and if that still doesn’t help, so FAST and be done with it. It’s now 10 years later and both elbows 100%.

the medical brace from Kings Brand promotes blood flow and perhaps employ a Tens unit to activate the muscles in the forearm

Great review/conversation. Seriously really helpful. Do they only come in black? I tried finding other colors but it doesn't look they offer anything other than black. I know it's sillly and only being available in black won't stop me from buying them but i would love if they made a color closer to steel. Since the clubface i play is steel i would love the shaft and clubface to be similar colors. Probably wanting too much on my part ha
