What's new In The Bag for your 2020

Since 2006 I have played two sets of irons with PX shafts and TV grips. Last year due to medical issue I had to change to lighter shafts so I could keep playing while healing and building back strength only this time went with TV Align grips.

A month or so back I realized 95gram shafts were too light, must to go heavier and then said what the he**. Might as well buy those par-dee 620 irons and have slightly heavier 110 gram graphite/steel "S" shafts installed with GP TV-360 grips and upgrade 716 T-MB to 718 T-MB. It has turned out to be a oh baby..oh baby decision except need to replace those grips, toooo firm. When that's done the only thing left will be a new driver shaft.

Used older pings for years then my dad wanted to treat me after a very serious heart operation, a gift to me so when he's gone ill always have my dad there..... So for the first time ever I got fitted for irons and a driver..... So it's all new for 2020...unwrapping at Xmas!

Went for mizuno jpx919 Pro with light weight kbs stiff 4-pw

Driver after going through loads the best fit and the most enjoyable was the cobra f9 speedback in yellow

Also got a new bag as it was in the sale but I bought that, a very nice macgregor in black and white. So it's all new and thanks dad

Yeah, jury came back on the 19° hybrid and it was a no go. I just never had any real confidence in it. Decided to give the Titleist U500 a go - hit it really, really well at the shop so we'll see how it goes.

I mean, I COULD just put a 7W back in the bag to cover that gap but I'm wanting something that performs a bit better for me out of trouble when I need distance recovery. If I wind up not being down with the U500, 7W it'll be.

Ordered 13 Ionimic Sticky 2.3 to try next year. So new to me going in next year will be Cally X Series 3 wood with 5.5 LZ shaft. 818H1 21 with Tensei Blue 70 hy R, Cleveland CBX 4-P with the TT 98 dst S300 and a Works Versa .

Hit them all yesterday at the range. Everything lines up. Figured regrip on all would be needed and I've liked the feel of the Ionmics so why not. May as well do the whole set now.

Envious of your change to Accra i105 shafts and hope they work out for you...I'm still getting used to Accra i123 iron shafts as they feel just slightly too heavy - betting the i105's would've felt just right. Oh well...will just keep practicing with mine and hopefully get used to weight.

Only thing truly a lock for the entire 2020 season is the driver.

Testing out a new putter right now, will be either a Bird or Prey, Odyssey 10, Phantom X12.5 or a PXG Gunboat.

Wedges are getting a little tired, but going to try and wait for SM8s.

Irons are staying tell Srixon comes out in the fall of 20.

I will have a new driver (Ping g410lst) in the bag to start the year off but still have a couple of great shafts with tm tips so if the SIM is impressive it may find its way into my bag before the season starts. I also just got a new set of Callaway apex combo’s with the black elevate shafts, they look fantastic & can’t wait to get them out

I have been curious about the U500/U510....I am having a hard time recently with my P790 4iron and wonder if these will be a little easier to hit. My gut says no but curious on your thoughts as I run TS2 15* & 18* as you do before getting to my 4 iron

I felt the same as I've never really swung anything like the whole "utility iron" thing - but I really was smokin it in the store. Found it surprisingly easy to hit. I'll have it on the course this week probably so we'll see how I can actually perform with it!

I'm pretty happy with my set up and am just off my best season ever, getting down to and playing to a 7 on the UK system, so I'm not too keen to change too much if I'm honest. Irons are perfect, and I'm getting the new D3 nicely dialled in now, so am just looking at other options depending on course / conditions. I replaced my driving iron with a hybrid and that's going mostly well, but I'm finding it less useful off the tee than I hoped - mostly as its going too far ? so I've bought a new 3 iron to test. Went to try a few options, and decided the best idea for a forgiving driving iron to hit 220 was an Mp20 3 Iron.

To accomadate that I'm going to have to drop a wedge, so am looking at going from 50 / 54 / 58 to 52 / 56. Add in some new grips, and maybe a Sunfish headcover or two, and that's my off-season tinkering.

I've replaced all MD4's with the new MD5 JAWS wedges for the new year. Spin and playability seems to be about the same. I seem to flight the JAWS a bit better.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

My bag is staying the same with exception of possibly the driver...and I really love my whole bag. I actually love my F9 performance wise, but the new Speedzone in looks takes them cake for me. So as long as performance is the same I’ll be switching to it.

If I had unlimited funds, the new Gen 3 PXG’s irons/wedges in some combo form would be in the bag.

Going backwards a couple years w the driver. Played TS3 in 2019... next year I'll be gaming a 2017 M1 440. Want to play the driver at a shorter length, and I'm absolutely nutting this thing (any MOI loss with the smaller head is made up in spades by the shorter length). That and probably a new Vokey PW and SW.

Old: 2017 M1 440 8.5* Tour AD GP 7x

New: Ping G410 LST 9* Tour AD GP 7x

There’s been absolutely nothing longer for me than the M1 440, verified by several fittings this year, but the G410 LST is so much straighter. The shaft sure is a lot for my swing speed, but seems to work for some reason.

Old: Taylormade SLDR 14* Motore Speeder TS 8.3

New: Mizuno ST 190 TS Atmos TS 7s

Ah yes, my SLDR. Unmatched ball speed still but the time has come for my rusty-faced beauty to be retired for the bomber that is the ST 190. 3 wood is in a transitional role for me this year, as I intend to use it as an option off the tee more often. So we’ll see how this one goes.

I was overdue for some new wedges, so I managed to win an eBay auction for a set of Corey Paul wedges (50, 54, 58) and found a set of KBS Hi-Rev 2 shafts to go in them, all for about $150! At some time I may upgrade the TM 2016 M2 driver for a Ping 400 Max, but that should be about it.

Only thing really new in my bag is my 3 wood. I had the standard flash 3 wood and done some testing and found that i really needed to lower some spin so went with the flash Sz(tour issue) it is my first tour issue club and i have to say im highly impressed by it coupled with a new tour ad iz7 shaft its a beast. I will be upgrading my irons for the 2020 year but still on the fence about what i really wanna put in the bag. I believe the oldest club in my bag would be a 816 hybrid 19* that i dont think will ever get knocked out. Also have a SM5 54* cause i cant get the same numbers with the newer model vokeys for some reason. Ive even bought back up sm5 54s to have when the grooves wear out. My 50 and 58 are sm7 but have yet to find something to beat my sm5 54
