GC2 with TGC2019

My first post so hopefully it’s in the right place.

I was advised to wait until the Orlando Merch show in January 2020 before buying a SkyTrak LM. There is a possibility that there will be a new model available perhaps with club head data. I would be very interested in club data so in the meantime as a back-up I was considering a GC2 with the option of adding HMT at a later date. However, I know someone who has a friend working at Foresight in Guildford UK who hinted that Foresight may do something to prevent GC2 being used with anything other than their own simulation software which I personally think is very poor compared to the game improvement software from SkyTrak and the TGC2019 sim software. They may be working on some reciprocal arrangement with ProTee to add something to their TGC2019 software that will prevent what Foresight regard as a hack to make it work with GC2. Has anyone heard of either a new improved SkyTrak or the software ‘anti-hack’ update to TGC2019? I think the software anti-hack is unlikely but a new improved SkyTrak option us certainly possible.

I bought a GC2 3 yrs ago (upgraded from SkyTrak) with intent to get HMT eventually and I never did. GC2 is all you need for sim or for practice.

Like everyone else, I have many issues with the Foresight software (range and data are fine as are some practice games, but for sim it blows). But it is an incredible piece of hardware and it is well worth the price difference vs the skytrak imo. You won't be disappointed and if you do find that you really need the club data, HMT is always available as an add on later.

Do you find you get enough data for practice without the HMT? Also, what about the sim blows? Or, was this previous FSX software?

Yes I do.  Foresight is simply the best imo for indoor ball flight.  Accurate ball speed and flight data are all I need at home and I practice nearly daily all winter.

Now in my setup, I cant hit driver at home due to ceiling height. If I was I was really grinding on Driver, CHS and other metrics become more important.  Will I upgrade to the Quad at some point?  Likely, but I really don't feel desperate to do it at all.  Plus, with the quad you cant hook up into TGC.

I have the latest and greatest FSX software.  The ease of use to start it and practice and use Foresights algorithims etc for range use/practice is great.  The course play just sucks compared to anything else I have tried and is well established at this point (not just my opinion).  But, they have recently allowed E6 integration which is a HUGE step in the right direction (still 2500 extra), and that will also allow for Quad hook up as well which has me thinking more about upgrading.

But TGC 2019 is still the best gameplay sim, and its the best video game as well (why PGA Tour 2k uses it).  And for that its always just going to be GC2.  But you can always use the HMT add on if you go that route.

Id just get the GC2, and if you really feel you NEED club data, then get the HMT or trade up for the Quad later.  Youre not going to get the GC2 and day 1 feel like omg I NEED that HMT I can promise you that.
