First new bag (Except Putter and Wedges) in more than 10 years this year - I'm hopeful I won't need to make another club purchase for a long while but the wedges are starting to show their age.

Driver: Callaway Epic Flash SZ - Tensei Blue X Stiff 9 Degree

Driving Iron: Taylormade P790 2 Iron Forged - Hazrdus Smoke 6.5

Irons: Taylormade P760 3-PW Nippon Modus 120s X Stiff

Wedges: Titleist SM4 50 54 58

Putter: Odyssey O Works #7

Yet again, I can't decide on a hybrid. 13 clubs solid, one shaky. Doesn't bode well for my chances. A couple more days to get it set.

That Christmas cash was burning a hole in my pocket so I upgraded the wedges the other day to SM7s. My SM5s were in the bag since early 2015, so not too bad. I had 50 / 54 / 58 previously, but I barely ever use the 50. New wedges are just 54 / 58, so I'm looking at a T-MB 3-iron.

As I carefully read the rules I could be off to a good start - appt. with ortho tomorrow about my elbow, guessing I won't even be playing until June or after. ;-) BUT, I would much rather be playing in March or April per usual and getting fitted for a new driver and wedges which will be happening as soon as I am physically able to celebrate, so the only thing preventing me from losing pretty early on will be doctor's orders, lol.

Be careful with that. A few years back I ruptured my achilles and was out for a few months. I was so golf-starved that I bought a set of irons, sold them without hitting them, bought another set of irons, a new driver, and a couple putters while I was still on crutches.

I didn't have anything else to do, so my equipment addiction went completely off the rails.

I have the same percentage of getting through the year as Bluto's GPA.

Callaway Rogue Subzero 9* w/ AD BB 7x

Callaway Rogue Subzero 3w w/ Tensei White 70 TX

Titleist 816 3h w/ Fiji Motore Speeder 8.8X

TaylorMade GAPR Lo 2i w/ Tensei White 90 TX

TaylorMade P790 Gen 1 4-P w/ Project X LZ 125 6.5 (SST Pured)

Vokey SM7 50* 12F

Vokey SM6 54* 14F

TaylorMade Hi-Toe 60*

Scotty Select Newport 2

If you add all of them up you can see that I cheat and carry 15 clubs. The 2i rarely sees the grass on the course.

Where I see failing is in a few different spots. The driver is good and the shaft is perfect for me but I could be swayed if the new Callaway driver is good. I hit the Epic Flash last year and immediately hated it. Just didn't work for me.

My hybrid is by far the oldest club in the bag and it probably needs replacing. The white shaft has wear marks from the bag almost all the way around it. Right now I have a gap between the hybrid (240y) and my 4i (210y). I can easily close that gap down by increasing loft.

The most troublesome gap in my bag is between the PW (44* - 150y) and the 50* (125y). This will be another likely fail when I switch to an SM8 48*. Also thinking of weakening the PW to 45*.

Well, I don't think it's going to get any better by tomorrow, so these clubs have the best chance at surviving a while.

Alright Dan I’ve waited till the last day lol. Surprisingly I’ve had the same bag for over 8 months now!!! The putter is still giving me problems and I change often. I’ve had the same driver, fw, hybrid, irons and wedges in play for 8 months!!!! I still can’t believe it. The putter I’m going to list today I just got in and have not had a chance to use it. Nobody on here is going to believe with all the putters that I own I have stooped this low but having putter issues will drive you insane. My biggest issue with my putting is I have eye Astigmatism In both eyes (very bad). When my putts get within 3 or so feet from the hole I have major problems with correct alignment. This putter has a 60 day return guarantee so I decided that I will give it a try. I watched Rick Shiels review it and decided to try it. Here is my current bag and what I’ll start my 2020 year off with.Taylormade 2017 Tour Issue M2 10.5 GD Tour AD DI 6x

Lol, this is going to be a hoot, because I'm in a pickle: My first golf of the new year is going to be on Jan. 2. So, with tomorrow being a holiday, if my new Mavrik head doesn't get to me by about 3pm today, I'm a lock to fail the challenge the moment it does come in and goes into the bag, most likely on Sunday, Jan. 8.

So, fair warning to all of the 2020 Challengers: Hold on for dear life, because if you can make it one week and one day into the year, you are almost a lock to beat me and not finish DFL!

I can't find my post from last year's thread, but I'm pretty sure I made it through 2019. The only equipment purchase (that I can remember) last year was a putter that never made it out of the garage. After a couple hours at Roger Dunn today, I've confirmed that I pretty much suck at golf no matter what is in my hands, so I settled for stocking up on balls and buying a new hat.

This year I'm going with:

Driver: Callaway Big Bertha @ 11* / Fubuki stiff

4 Wood: Callaway Big Bertha @ 17* / Fubuki stiff

7 Wood: Callaway Big Bertha @ 21* / Fubuki stiff

Irons: Callaway XR 5-LW / +1" 3* up / Speedstep stiff

Putter: Callaway "The Tuttle" / 35" with Iomic midsized

Not getting to play a ton, I like having only 2 basic looks in the bag, it helps with consistency (or so I tell myself :-) )
