2020 Bag is Set Challenge!!!

I'm still in, but it's only a matter of time. My fairway wood is on it's way out as soon as I figure out what to replace it with. I'm going to make it at least to February, but I wouldn't expect to make it to my first February round before a change is made.

I thought the fairway beat out the hybrid, even though the hybrid was the club you trusted the most!

I ended up going with the Cobra F6 Baffler as my 4 wood and Ping G30 Hybrid (19*). With about 4 rounds in the books this year I've been pretty frustrated with the Baffler. It's not the club, it's doing what it's designed to do. But right now there's no grass on our courses. At best, it's dormant grass over mud and the Baffler's rails are propping the leading edge up off the ground too high, so I'm hitting everything low on the face and struggling to get the ball airborne off the deck.

So there's either going to be a more traditional 3 or 4 wood, or a lower lofted hybrid going in the bag, I just haven't figured it out yet.

Here's a great question, I plan on buying a new wedge, as mine is worn, and am thinking of getting the same make and model. Would that disqualify me?

As for now, this was my bag for my first simulator session of the year.

DRIVER: M5 Tour, 10.5* turned down to 9.5*, Tensei white X.

3 WOOD: M2 Tour, 15*, Tour AD F-75 X

HYBRID: Titleist 17.5*, I dont really remember exactly what model this is... I know it's an older one (915?) and I know its not leaving my bag for a while.

IRONS: Titleist 714 cb 3-P, Project X 6.5.

WEDGES: Titleist sm6 52* and 58*

PUTTER: Ping Scottsdale TR B60 model.

According to the rules of the challenge, most of which I made up on a whim, this action would not disqualify you from the challenge. This would fall under rule 34-9, excpt. C; article 2.1 - "Replacement of a broken/damaged/non-functioning club with the identical club."

Well I'm out At the beginning of the year it was :

Driver: TS2 Driver 9.5* Tensei Pro White 60S (A2 Setting)

3W: TS2 15* Tensei Pro White 70S (A2 Setting)

5W: TS2 18* Tensei Pro White 70S (B3 Setting)

Irons: TaylorMade 2019 P790 4-PW PX LZ 120 6.0

Wedges: PING Glide 3.0 50-SS/54-SS/58-SS DG S200

Putter: PING Vault 2.0 Voss

Now after some great finds and BST houdning it is:

Driver: TS2 Driver 9.5* Tensei Pro White 60S (A2 Setting)

3W: TS2 15* Tensei Pro White 70S (A2 Setting)

19 Hybrid: SIM Max Ventus Blue 7S

Irons: TaylorMade 2019 P790 4-AW PX LZ 120 6.0

Wedges: SM7 54.12F/58.08M DG S200

Putter: Bettinardi BB1F Limited Run Black Out

Pre-ordered the SIM Max hybrid and its a winner, added the P790 AW for forgiving purposes, found a clean pair of SM7's on BST and stumbled upon the Bettinardi at my local shop for a song.

Quick question: do you get bench clubs or interchangeable clubs? I play different courses through out the summer and like to have some versatility with certain pieces of equipment based up on the conditions. Secondly, I don't know why I ask because I'm pretty much the largest putter slut on the face of the planet; I'll pretty much lose three hours into my first practice session of the year! With that being said, my set I played from last year is still my signature but this is what it is looking like right now for the beginning of this year!

Driver: Taylormade M2 10.5* - Proforce V2 7X

3 Wood: Titleist 904F 13.5* - Proforce V2 85gX

5 Wood/Utility: Cobra CB 2i 16* - KBS C-Taper 130X

Core Iron Set: Mizuno MP59's 3-9 - KBS C-Taper 130X

Titleist Wedge Works 56*K - KBS White Pearl 120S (Bent 3* strong to cut down on the bounce. Plays as a 53*)

Titleist Wedge Works 60*M - KBS White Pearl 120S (Bent 1* strong; plays as 59*)

I'm not out yet, but I'll be out when I play this weekend. Saturday is February 1st, so I'm claiming victory for making it through January for the first time.

Taking out the F6 Baffler for a little while and putting in a Ping Anser 4 wood. Also ordered 2 new driver shafts to test and will likely look to replace my Fly-Z driver with a Speedzone Extreme head later this year.

One of the benefits of not being able to golf here until May is lots of time to make changes without losing! Through no fault of my own I have to reshaft the IE1's from the stock graphite to the Xcalibers I used last year. Set will now be

Ping G400 4h/Alta CB r flex
