I am out as well. Been testing a 50° Ping Glide Forged last Sunday and again today, and added the 54 and 58 for today's testing. The 50 is definitely staying and the 58 is a strong possibility. Those wedges are something special.

I’m still in but realize I’m setting myself up to fail later on... I was just given a Scotty Studio Stainless Newport 2 for my 40th birthday. Since I was traveling down to Florida and playing two rounds, I figured I throw it in the bag. I’m very certain that I’ll be playing my PXG Bat Attack H when the Minnesota season starts all but assuring I’ll take myself out of the competition. I guess it’s possible I use the Scotty but that seems unlikely.

Does anyone know if replacing a Titleist TMB 3 iron for a Mizuno HMB 3 iron because it looks and feels better counts as like for like? Asking for a friend.....

This is nearly impossible to do on here....

I think this should be for your first round of the season, so hard no to test new stuff early in the year at the simulator, especially in winter states.

i bought a Ventus driver shaft, new MD5 wedges, new SLRossie, and testing a Mavrik 7w.

@Jimjam651 You are correct, your friend may replace a club in their bag if it is broken or severely worn. BUT, your friend must replace it with as close to an exact match as reasonably possible. In this case, your friend would need to put another Titleist TMB 3i w/the same shaft back in their bag.

Every year I'm 1-2 clubs away from getting it right. Usually, it's the same 1-2 clubs.

1) Driver (no reason to change, but I do anyway)

2) fairway wood (I hate all of them, so I'm never happy)

3) Hybrid (changes depending on the gap between fairway and long iron)

 

If I could ever really figure out fairway wood, I think everything else would fall into place. I think I'm close... my new fairway wood is starting to make me forget how much I hate them.

I was a big time failure last year overall, but I've knocked down some major barriers in this area...….

1) As mentioned, I did not succeed last year. However, I will be starting 2020 with the same setup I ended 2018 with and played the majority of my 2019 rounds with so that's something, right?

I miss the chase of this thread already. I've been out for almost as long as I was in, but it's like I've completely broken my shackles. I kinda miss the artificial constraint that this thread was providing.

I still haven't changed much (really, only my fairway wood), but my putter is also on borrowed time. I have one in the mail that won't get here until next week, otherwise mine would probably get benched this weekend. I feel like I need a new goal to protect me from my own worst tendencies.
