Golf Gloves... Can anything beat MG?

The quality control on MGs gloves is sorely lacking. The sizing is inconsistent, the thickness of the leather is inconsistent, the stitching is inconsistent.  The ones that are good, are really good. Unfortunately, for every good one there is a few that rip at the pad prematurely, rip at the finger seams prematurely, but the most frustrating part of it all, the inconsistent sizing of the fingers. On some the thumb is much longer, on others it's the index finger...and others feel like I'm using cadets - and nothing is more annoying than ill fitting fingers on gloves.  For that reason, as much as I really liked the ones that were good.. I had to move on.

Kirkland it is for me.

I have both the Kirkland and the MG Tech grip in my bag currently (all size ML).  Both gloves perform well and I have no problems with sizing inconsistencies in the 6 MG's I bought last summer.  I like the MG in hot weather as it breathes better but I have no complaints about the Kirkland.  I also have 2 MG Elites that I had personalized with a logo but I have been saving those.  Perhaps I have just been lucky but in the past 5 years I have never had a bad MG glove and would absolutely recommend them.

Just rotate your gloves when they get a little sweaty, let them dry out flat and don't tug on the wrist.  It's pretty simple glove love!

Been using the MG Techgrip gloves for 4+ years now.  I just went and bought a package of the Costco/Kirkland gloves yesterday to try based on this thread.  I like the Costco glove okay.  The leather seems to be a little thicker than the MG, but for me the MG is a more comfortable glove.  Will probably go back to MG when these 4 gloves are played through (could be next month as much golf as we are playing in Covid 2020).

I am an XL in Footjoy but an XXL in Titleist Players.  I went with the XXL in both DG models and like them but they are a little big so going to order XL's next time. Very good quality, impressed so far. Thank again for the recommendation.

I've been a MG fan for years. Have tried other value priced gloves and keep coming back. Just placed an order a couple of weeks ago for a new batch and used the personalization feature (which wasnt available in my size the last time I ordered?). Uploaded a college logo thinking that they would probably reject it due to being trademarked -- nope! Got the gloves within a week or so. Logo looks great!

I will say this is the first time I have had sizing issues. This batch of gloves had a few that seem to be a bit on the big side -- not a huge deal but noticeable. Hopefully that trend doesn't continue.

Kirkland without a doubt. I’m pretty easy on gloves but they last for ever.

I averaged 11 rounds with the Kirklands.  I have around that on the MG Elite and not even a scratch if you will.  I was loyal to the Callaways from costco.com, but they discontinued those unfortunately.  However, thus far I like the MG's just as much.

I had never used MG and went with my usual size.  They are bigger than expected.  So much so that the velcro barely fastens.  I will definitely go a size smaller next time.

I'm all for finding a better, less expensive alternative but every MG glove I've ever had was inconsistent in sizing and the overall thickness ranged from paper thin to work glove thick.   On top of that, they never lasted even half the amount of range time and course time as comparable FJ and Titleist gloves.   That's just my experience.  I'm sure others have different experiences.

I will say that the sizing between models is a little off sometimes.  Between the Dynagrip and the Elite, I would honestly say that there is about 1/2 a size difference on the bigger end.  Maybe that is because the leather on the Elite is noticeably thinner.

I have to honestly say that these are the longest lasting gloves that I have ever used.  I don't know how, or where it is, but I lost my gamer glove which was a brand new Elite.  I went in my bag and pulled out my 2 season old Dynagrip and it was still soft and performed great.  Looks like I will be putting in a season end order again.

With the size difference I may order a size smaller in the Elites and see how that works out.  I think with the thinner leather and the breathing holes in the Elites, while they are more prone to wearing out quicker, if they are taken care of they will last for a while.  The only durability issue I ever had was with the regular Dynagrip and getting hard because of not drying properly.  It would happen towards the end of the life expectancy of the glove, but I suppose it's expected.

Digging one up from the grave.

Has anyone done the custom print on their MG glove? Looking to try and was wondering if it’s just a cheap sticker or how it came out.

That's funny, I actually just ordered some with a custom print this morning.  Process was easy enough, I'll see how they turn out.

Been playing these almost exclusively for the last couple of months, the XL fits well though there has been a little bit of QC issue (the ring finger on one glove was much tighter than usual. It broke in eventually but if it had been a Titleist or FJ I would have returned it.  For $6-7 I'm okay giving them a little room.  What I continue to be most impressed with is the quality of the leather.  I keep three gloves velcroed around my alignment stick and switch out every hole. The MG's have worn noticeably better than my previous go to, the Titleist Players glove.  You could keep playing those for a while but they looked greyer and greyer.  The MG's have held up much better. Matter of fact, I think I'll go order a couple more MG's right now so I'm all stocked up for spring 🙂

Cool, I’d love to know how they look. Probably will take a chance too just because it’s so cheap to do.

I did the custom logo last year and it turned out great. Basically Googled a picture of my college logo, saved it to my desktop and then uploaded it on their site. You can re-size it and move it around to fit when you upload it. Its screen printed on - not a sticker or anything. Quality seemed good and I didnt have any issues with the logo fading or rubbing off or anything. I think you should probably be cautious of really detailed logos though. Just placed a personalized order this morning for the start of the season.

Awesome, thanks! Took a shot for $1 totally worth it to try a few.

I’m excited to see them.

This is going to sound really picky, but what is the cuff length like on these? For whatever reason I’ve found that I don’t care for gloves with a longer cuff. I’m using Ashers now, which have been just about perfect aside from being on the thicker side. I used PureTouch Limited before these but couldn’t justify the price to replace them every three rounds.

Love MG gloves. I hate paying $20-25 for a glove when I know I'm going to wear it out within a week or less during the summer. $5 for something that is 99% the same quality is a much better deal in my opinion.

The only downside to me is the the logo piece where the velcro attaches is a little stiff and thick initially, but it softens up a bit after a few wears.

Depends on what you're comparing it to. I'd say the MG cuffs are on par with FootJoy, but definitely longer than Titleist. I've always found Titleist gloves to be absurdly short.

So as far as the velcro/logo piece I find the cheapest model to have the least noticeable fastener and the thinnest most expensive model to have the most noticeable.
