Yes, some people were up in arms. You might disagree with them, but one of the hallmarks of having a debate is being able to properly state what the other side thinks. You are not able to do that yet with respect to this discussion.

Again a small set of people who are part of the typical outrage culture Twitter has garnered. Fat slobby minivan soccer moms and the like. The rest of the world could have cared less. In fact the rest of the coverage was how great the kids swing looked. Additionally, the video was shot from the deck of the clubhouse which is right near the range but outrage culture freaks assume its someone stalking Tiger. I don't just disagree with them they aren't even worth listening too because they deal in emotion and twisted views of factual information.

The whole company is just launching into the sports world at break neck pace. They have a huge gambling set that people follow. Once Penn controls more than 50% of the company could spell its descent unless Portnoy has outlined that he controls content. Portnoy's vision is what is propelling them into the forefront of the next generation of sports coverage. For outsiders to try and dictate the creative movement could be a problem. However, I wouldn't have turned down the offer either. Walk away loaded and care not for what happens to it after.

According to compiled statistics, 51% of the US over 12 has listened to a podcast up from 44% in just a year. 70% of the US is familiar with the term podcasting so its gaining momentum and is becoming the preferred entertainment outlet vs. radio XM or otherwise.

It is the next wave of entertainment because there are over 500k podcasts available and you don't have to listen to crap you don't want to. Foreplay is #1 in it's category making bank and entertaining people the old man media can't figure out how to do. People are tired of the same crap over and over and its why Foreplay is on top.

Until folks are tired of the same old brand of crap that Fore Play puts out on a weekly basis ;-) And they'll be just as past it.

The content is the people. As long as the talent is still there like Pres, Big Cat, PFT, Carrabis, Riggs, etc the company will continue to grow at an exponential rate. A huge part of the deal with Penn is that Barstool still controls content. Pres, Big Cat, and KFC aren’t going anywhere that was also a huge part of the deal with Penn.

I am almost 48 yrs old and I love the Barstool/Fore Play stuff as to ME, the last 3 years we have seen such a stuffiness with the media that who the hells wants to listen to them. I am also a Boston guy and was raised in the neighboring town to where Portnoy was born (the first pizza review as in my City at Monte's Pizza). I am ok with this new "style", I am seeing the PGA guys in a MUCH more relaxed format. I have become a big Kisner fan because of what I see on Fore Play because he reminds me of me & my friends on/off the course. He is free to be who he really is.

Everything runs in cycles, maybe this is their 15 mins of fame. If it doesn't fit what you like then simply change the channel. Simple as that.

I was already a Justin Thomas fan but after hearing and seeing his interactions with them it has caused me to like him more. I also wasn't much of a Dechambeau fan but hearing him on there has softened my position as well. People may not like their style and I understand that, but they get guys to open up considerably more than the "old man media" ever could. In the end though I enjoy both forms (new and old) and feel like there is a place for both.

I don’t doubt those numbers. But I’m one who still prefers to read. I hate having to wait for a dang video to load , sift through the opening ads , then listen to some jackass talk about himself or some inside joke for 13 minutes. This site included. I click on some of the main page stories. And if they come up as a video only. I click off. I am able to read. And I read faster than any video. I just don’t have patience for the podcast format.

TBF, I'm surprised they're not higher than that and a podcast is to be listened to, not watched. It's a darn sight easier to put on a 30min podcast and try and check out while commuting on the train than trying to read something while getting jostled about.

I cannot listen to novels, I've tried audio books, but really enjoy reading the words; however, podcasts that line up with what you're interested in can be a great way to while away the time :-) There are a fair few I really enjoy listening to on flights and other typically travel related times.

Of course now we're back to the delivery channels for the content and not the content itself. For the first time I listened to a Fore Play podcast this week and checked their socials and ya they are not for me, but then I am likely not their demographic. Neither informative or entertaining for me. Basically the loud guys in the clubhouse banging on about random stuff, interspersed with adverts for underwear.

Yep. And I can see that. If I had a commute etc and needed to multi task , I’d probably listen to something. And true. I’m sure there are some deliveries that would suit me. I’ll eventually have no choice. I guess. And will delve into figuring out what I can stomach. But the loud guys in the clubhouse and underwear adverts won’t be it. Lol.

Apparently the underwear is really good for not bunching and binding ;-)

Man, I agree with all that. Except I have watched mygolfguys (changed the spelling) podcast on YouTube and it is kind of funny to see their expressions. But yeah I get your point , just listen to it. At this point I’m reading so much golf info my brain cannot take any new ideas. I have to not listen to anything else I’ll go off on some new tangent. Try that my golf guy’s podcast I think it is aimed at adults over 35, the little bald guy gets kinda annoying but other then that it’s cool. He does sorts know his equipment though.
