Mobile doesn’t have that option and top right returns nothing

Don't know what "that option" is and the "top right" seems to work for me on my mobile.

Samsung S8. I used Android, Chrome and the desktop site, clicked on the upper right spyglass, got the drop down as described in my previous post and hit "Search". THEN got the search page and THEN typed in the search argument and hit "Search" and got the relevant items returned.

The workaround he’s referring to does seem to work on mobile. When you get to that screen, you then type in what you’re searching for. Hit the magnifying glass in the top right, don’t type anything in, just hit search. Then you type in your search on the next screen and hit search again and you’ll get results. Kind of ridiculous that’s what it takes to make it work. The search button between the page numbers in each forum has disappeared again however.

It returns 10 results. Can’t look at any more than that and unfortunately a number of the results are the same thread. Maybe I’m missing something but sure not very helpful...

Well, that shows it is "working".

The results, and their ordering/displaying, is another story though. Don't think anybody likes it.

No sortability; at the very least one should be able to sort via most recent or oldest. Condensing all results from a single thread to a single result might be another good option.

I just tried searching on my iPhone and it seemed to work fine

click the 3 lines in the upper left corner, then click advanced search

type in what you are searching for ( I chose i210 ) and choose the sub forum( I chose classifieds)

then, uncheck all of the options that are checked except for “discussions” and hit search

it gave me several threads from the last several months with i210’s for sale.

I have no idea if it shows all of them and I also don’t know how well it works for searching out in other sub forums.

if you leave “comments”checked it usually brings up every post in the thread

It works, but is in no way a fix. It's a work around and search doesn't work as it should.

It worked for me. It's definitely a quirky workaround, butt glad it's available.

Hey all,

Seems like it’s been covered but I can’t get it to work/ don’t know if there’s been a fix for this in particular. My favorite part of this site was being able to search the pages and pages of listings on classifieds. I use the advanced search, and search without a title. Now there are only 10 results shown with no pages to scroll. Let me know if there’s a work around, I’m on iPhone using chrome and also tried safari. Again apologies if redundant.

Why is this still broken!!!!!????? So dumb! I search and it gives me 10 results and tells me there are 1000 more...can I see the 1000 more...no just the 10. FML this is dumb

Yea they needed the ad revenue so they could have ads show up every other post but search and feedback were just collateral damage. Just sucks for people who use this on a daily basis.

Sure it works like that but that takes me entering the search field twice...Why cant this screen work? This was the original problem not that I could not find a work around or take additional steps to complete a search but this is a main feature on their page and does not work still? Also I am find with ad revenue but why do they have to be "posts" in between other posts. Does the top or the sides not work anymore? Can a forum not just be a forum while the rest of the site is generating ad revenue? This is just another item in the laundry list of frustrations and we have a right to voice them and in the end its what helps them trouble shoot and see where the problems are so that at some point they have a great site again. Every time I come to this site it generates income for them right? So in essence they are being paid for our presence, but they need to please the end users to keep being paid which is all we are asking for. Fix the bones of the site and then work on adding badges and features no one wants...

Thats a pretty bad take on the problem.

 

Members on this board make it possible for the board to make money via advertisements. So WRX makes money on people posting and needs them posting otherwise the site doesn't exist. Same goes for all of those little companies like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, the list goes on. NO people, no product, no advertising money. Not having a functional product (after this much time) is a problem.

I am not privy of the reasons why search and other things are taking so long to get fixed.

However, clicking on "Advanced Search" and THEN entering your search criteria doesn't sound like that big a deal to me.

As for the ads I am expect management has considered everything involved including the annoyance of some posters about the ads popping up in every 6th post.

Other than that I really don't know what to tell you.

I've been here quite a while and know many who work for GolfWRX. Constructive criticism is warranted and needed so i'm not sure why you are getting on people who are providing feedback on board functions. After all WRX created this section of the board "Website Help, News, and FEEDBACK" for a reason right?

Well I guess if you really do not have anything to add then maybe don't trash another opinion? We as users are allowed to tell them things that annoy us and we are giving them the benefit of the doubt that things will get fixed over time which is why we are all still here. It's broken plain and simple. In the words of the great Jo Bennet "Don't give me gravy and tell me its jelly cause gravy ain't sweet."

I have the same question as @bkirkley09. Search will work for me but only after clicking the magnifying glass in the top right, then clicking search, which takes you to another search bar. After typing what I search for in that search bar, I can see the results. Just looking for confirmation I'm not doing it wrong.

You're not doing it wrong. Search is not working as designed.

So when you click on the spyglass, at least for now, don't bother entering any search arguments there. Just click on "Advanced search" and use the following page.
