WITB-College Golfer-Ft. NEW MIZUNO MP 20 MMC (UPDATED 2/6/22)

Hey, Y'all i've posted a few WITB's on here in the past. Just finished my first semester at the University of Lynchburg! Played in every fall tournament and averaged 76 which wasn't too bad with how bad my putting was. Finally got my new irons yesterday, so thought I'd Share whats in my bag to start the 2020 season!

Driver: Taylormade M6 9* w/ Alidila Rogue Silver 110 MSI 60-X

3 wood: PXG 0341X GEN 2 15* w/ Project X Evenflow Blue Handcrafted 75-6.5

3 Iron: PXG 0311X GEN 2 20* w/ KBS TOUR Graphite Hybrid Prototype 95-X

4-PW: Mizuno MP-20 MMC w/ Project X LZ 6.5 STD L/L/L

52* and 56*: Taylormade Milled Grind Black w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400

60*: Taylormade Milled Grind My Hi Toe Black w/ Dynamic Golf Tour Issue S400

Putter: Taylormade Spider X Navy with White True Path alignment aid w/ KBS TOUR PUTTER shaft (Currently on the Hot seat as my putting has struggled, probably will toy with my Spider Tour Red No Sightline and my Custom Scotty Cameron Futura X7M over the winter)

Ball: 2019 Taylormade TP5

Bag:Ping Mascot Team Bag

All clubs minus the putter have Golf Pride Z grips logo down with 1 additional wrap and the putter has a Superstrok X Traxion GTR pistol 1.0 but getting a Tour issue Superstroke X Traxion Pistol 1.0p to test out!

Well thought out bag - what did you have before the M6?

Only ask because I'm not entirely sold on mine having moved on from the 2016 M1.

Had the M3 which I didn't Love, before that I had the 2017 M2, 2017 M1, and 2016 M1. Honestly I like the M6 the Best out of the bunch, this will be the first year since the OG M1 where I don't switch drivers!

Update: Finally been able to get in some good work prepping for our spring season! Going to be ordering some Raw Vokey SM8's with TI S400's 50F,50S bent to 55, and 60M as soon as they're available! Probably also going to get an HMB MP-20 4 Iron as I want something a little hotter in the 4 iron. Also just picked up a tour issue 1.0P X Traxion that i've been looking to find forever; but just started to feel really comfortable with my X Traxion Pistol GT 1.0, so holding off on changing for now!

UPDATE 10/30/20:

Hey guys!,

After the Covid shortened spring season I made the difficult choice to potentially end my collegiate golf career and transfer to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. This was extremely difficult but Miami is fantastic school and have loved my time here so far. I am currently on the Club Team here and my goal is to walk on to the NCAA team in the fall of next year if my game keeps improving. My bag has seen some small changes since I started this thread so thought i'd update ya'll!

Driver: Taylormade SIM W/ Graphite Design Tour AD IZ 7X 10.5 (Lowered to 9)

Been a solid Driver, Looks are amazing but honestly kind of miss the feel and sound of my old M6. Definitely going to take a look at what comes out in 2021
3 Wood: Taylormade M2 TOUR W/ Graphite Design Tour AD BB 7X

Old Faithful, Plated an M3 that I cracked and a PXG after getting fit for this originally but this thing just always finds it's way back in the bag.
3 Iron: PXG 0311X GEN 2 W/ KBS TOUR HYBRID PROTOTYPE 95X

Loved this club at first but honestly the head just kind of feels dead compared to other driving irons, looking into the U500&U510, as well as the SIM DHY. 
4 iron: Mizuno MP-20 HMB W/ Project X LZ 6.5

Love the extra forgiveness that the HMB brings to the 4 iron slot, flies high and is easy to hit without sacrificing too much in the looks department. 
5-PW:  Mizuno MP-20 MMC W/ Project X LZ 6.5

 Absolutely love these Irons, definitely the best I've played since my Apex Pro '16. Had the I210 before these, while those were amazing I wanted to go back to an iron with a smaller sole and these have definitely achieved that without sacrificing tons of forgiveness. 
50,54,60: Titleist Vokey SM8 RAW W/ Onix Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400

 Best Wedges I've ever played hands down!
Putter: Taylormade Spider X Navy/White 34"

Okay this one is by far the best putter I've used, as a junior golfer I used to change putters almost monthly in a rotation and could never commit to one putter and one grip style. This thing changed that , It's now been in my bag for 18 months and while its had some struggles from time to time it's definitely the best putter i've used. I've had the same Tour Issue Superstroke 1.0p on it for almost a year now and that's saying something for me, this combo is just straight money!

Great bag and collection of head covers.  I like picking up head covers with interesting logos.  What course did you get the camo head cover with the cow logo?  It looks a little like a course in Delaware called Odessa National, except the cow is not holding a club on the Odessa logo.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen many of them either. I'm really loving it so far, definitely really smooth in transition which I like as it helps me generate a little more lag. Have struggled with spin for a while and just kept going stiffer and heavier and when I was fit this winter we took a different route which has worked well so far!

Update: Ordered a set of Mizuno Pro 223 5-PW and a 225 4 iron paired with Project X LS 6.0 and BB&F Ferrules. Quoted 6-8 weeks, so should be here right when I get home from school. Can't wait to test these things out!

How do you like the HMB 4 iron?
I currently have a mixed set of MP-20 (blade and MMC) looking for a solid 3 iron and like the HMB but also looking at the new Fli-HI’s.

HMB is a solid club I’ve hit new Fli-HI’s and they are pretty solid, preferred 225 in the 3 iron spot as the Fli Hi is pretty chunky

Yeah the chunky factor is big to me as well. I had an Adams DHY for years and just couldnt hit it as well as my current AP2 3-iron.

JUNE 2022 UPDATE!!!

My new 223’s 5-PW and 225 4 iron paired with Project X LS 6.0 and the BB&F ferrules came in last week after 8 weeks and I’m loving them so far. Took some time to adjust but made 7 birdies en route to a 68 yesterday so things are clicking. Also switched to the Titleist Linksmaster members bag which is amazing so far. Everything else is the same. Really happy with how the setup is looking right now!
