New FlightScope Mevo+ (MERGED)

I had not heard of that up to this point and was not informed of that by any of the website reps since I asked about it biweekly for the past 3 months. I'm sure it's in one of the 50 pages of various forums about the mevo+ but I don't read every single post. Either way, that sucks. I was 100% going to buy this simulator and now I'm going to wait, which probably means I'm not going to buy one.

Yeah... unfortunate. Mevo+ is still a better value, even baking in another $200-250 for an iPad. Only other competitor in that price range is Skytrak, but plan on a $99/yr fee minimum for useful range features, and still no sim courses.

The Mevo+ is the only way to get any simulation play on courses without an annual fee, unfortunatley that means an investment in an iOS device if you don't have one. It's not a Flightscope thing though, TrueGolf only makes their E6 Connect simulator software for iOS or PC... TGC2019 is also PC only... really not much for options in Sim software for Android anywhere you look.

The android news definitely sucks, but I was prepared. Before purchasing I got the wife's permission to use her iPad for the sim until I decide to splurge on PC version. I also bought the adapter for the hdmi cable from the projector to connect to the iPad.

What sucks is I've had all this stuff for over a month now (including the hitting mat and swing bay) and I'm probably still 6 weeks out from the mevo arriving ?

All depends on what you want Mevo+ for - as a simulator or as a practice tool. I personally will use it both outside and inside. I will use the FS apps for outside and then use simulation software inside. I don't have an iPad or iPhone, so I am just going to get a new Laptop which I already need that will run TGC. I looked at using e6 off an ipad, but the graphics just don't cut it. I also love TGC and all the courses available for a one time cost. Yes, it is more $ on the front end, but doing it right the first time and not having to pay annual subscription will save me $ in the long run.

What is the cost of TGC? I'm trying to figure out which one to go with between that and E6.

TGC is usually $950 from Pro Tee United but if you can get in touch with Gung Ho Golf he has a discount offer. I was able to snag the 30% off in Early April when they had the sale for the Mevo+. After installing it on my computer it looks amazing, and has lots of great course recreations. Now just waiting for my Mevo+ to arrive!

has anyone used one indoors that has more distance from tee to net than 7-8'? I have a room that is 27' wall to wall and I can hit in a spot that gives me 15' tee to net. The ceiling gets to 16' because I designed it for a golf room and wanted to be able to hit from a farther distance back. I'm hoping this will produce even better accuracy for something like a Mevo+.

Thats a serious amount of space! Lucky you!

I don't have that kind of room... with more than 13' in front of the ball, you'll be able to put the Mevo+ in regular/long indoor mode, instead of short indoor mode, and should get more accurate data than short indoor mode, since there's more ball flight.

Your bigger concern will be how you launch your short irons and wedges. My top bar that my screen attaches to is at about 8' high right now.. I hit from 9 feet back. Even at 8-9 feet from the screen my buddies hit the top bar using sand and lob wedges if they hit full shots... Just need to make sure you have enough height in your space to be able to hit balls from 13' away or more, and not hit the ceiling...

I set my swing bay up for 13' and I can hit full 58° shots without a problem, but flop shots are a bit sketchy...then again pitch and chip shots on a simulator normally suck anyway regardless of your swing bay.

Sweet... on mine with 9' of flight and an 8' high screen, I just barely hit the top edge with lob (I launch pretty low) but my buddies tend to flip at the bottom and launch pretty high... once the new screen goes up, it's a little bigger so will extend all the way up to 9' of screen height and should be just fine..

I think you will be in the minority of folks having enough space to use long indoor mode... jealous!

Awesome. I thought I heard about a setting for longer distances. My wife just mentioned she'd be interested in the Mevo+ because the ability to play courses. So plan to wait and see some further reviews this summer.

My ceiling vaults up to 16' and my net hangs from the ceiling to floor to cover the entire wall. It's an addition on our house we just did and I've been able to hit for 6 weeks now and so far no issues even with wedges. I've gotten pretty close to the ceiling.

I have 32 feet lol. I'm eventually going to install a bathroom behind the bay so that will take me down to probably 26'. I set it up that way now so I won't have to adjust anything down the road. Lining up and mounting the projector was a major PITA!

Here's our proposed layout. The basement is currently completely unfinished. Right now it's basically the golf area, storage and a workout space. Once it's finished I'll have to work out in the golf area but I'm ok with that. My buddy had the smart idea of adding the drink ledge bar area, as it was just going to be a half wall partition to help separate the golf area in order to keep balls in/wandering kids, drunk people out.

We're hoping to have the contractor start in September or October.

The center of the tee box is about where the stairs/closet ends and the drink ledge starts.

I wish I had the ceiling height in my basement. We thought about moving, building in which I would have made sure basement had enough ceiling space, but decided we like our current place and I want to limit real estate exposure which could be an issue in the next two years. So I am stuck in the garage which is a-ok if we want to have some rowdy nights.

When we initially went to look at this house I brought clubs with me to swing in the basement before I gave her the okay lol. Driver is a little suspect, but I can comfortably hit 3-wood.

trying to decide between the Mevo and Mevo plus. Mainly will be using it on the range (tour practice balls and grass) to work on carry distances, but will probably bring it with me to other places as its kind of cool to be able to set up and use whereever. May be fun to get together and play a round on the mevo plus. i am leaning toward the mevo because its 1/4 the price, but will i regret not buying the mevo+ for the sim? curious to hear anybody's thoughts that had a similar dilemma. its also worth noting the mevo plus is 13 week shipping time whereas the mevo is around 3

I ordered 3/17 and haven't heard anything. I suppose I could follow-up and try to get an estimated date, but I'm guessing around 6/15.

I e-mailed customer support and asked. I plan on using outside mostly during the summer and finishing up SIM in the late fall. No need to play indoor golf when I can play outside.

If you are only using outside and just want carry distance, Mevo is pretty accurate from what I have seen.

If you want more data, then Mevo + offers that. If you want to do any inside work, get a Mevo +. I have heard poor things on Mevo inside.

For simulated play, that stuff can get pricey quick with a nice mat, screen, projector, pc, software, etc.
