Ahh, I guess they didn't really make that clear in answering my question. So e6 Connect can be ran on a PC then from the Mevo+?

I'm sure that simulation is of interest for plenty of consumers, otherwise I'm not sure why Flightscope would've bothered developing the features. Also, the Mevo+ sits pretty close to SkyTrak pricing, so I assume it's meant to compete in that space.

I can't speak to the mevo integration. Who did you talk to, the flightscope folks or the trugolf folks?

The core e6 connect software is designed to be independent of the LM or sensor used. Then specific plug-ins (sort of) are developed independently by the LM folks, to enable them to be used by the base e6 connect software. So if they are really talking about the 'regular' full version of e6 connect, it should be. But then in that case, it would have to be a Windows PChttps://e6golf.com/e6-connect/manual/

But I guess it's feasible that (to save money, e6 connect is expensive) maybe they are thinking of bundling mevo+ with some "light", tablet only version of e6 connect. I wouldn't think they'd go through the trouble of that but you never know.

That is what I thought, though the E6 talk is confusing me. If no subscription is needed, I will start saving my pennies.

Unless they're doing something completely different with the mevo+, e6 connect PC software is subscription based. That's one of the reasons I didn't bother upgrading over e6 v1.6 (not that 1.6 will be an option for Mevo+).

@Stuart_G They're bundling a core set of five courses and several driving ranges. A press release says it's e6 simulation "software." But, the mevo website says the e6 app will be needed, so I downloaded it today. Looks like mevo+ will come with a proprietary login.

If they require dots for indoor, I wonder if having metal dots on the clubs will increase accuracy of the club speed measurement

In terms of data parameters, nothing, the mevo+ might actually have an edge since it gives peak height.The Xi+ does give club acceleration profile data, but I honestly don't use that feature. The Xi+ is more powerful radar given it can track the entire ball flight, the Mevo+ likely just grabs the initial flight and then gives you the normalized data. Indoors they might be very similar in performance. In terms of usability, the Mevo+ has a big advantage with the included E6 integration

So it says the + does AoA, how do we think it calculates that?

This is an exciting marketed device but when you price it up 2k is a lot of money for this device (have look at how weak the GBP is here).

I wonder if we will see any challenger devices at PGA show.

The lack of that is the main drawback in the e6 (v1.6) integration for Xi+ and Xi Tour (and X2).

The dots are to help spin measurement. Ball speed is going to be fine w/o the dots.

No, they are not terrible indoors. They only proven disadvantage is that they require more space. They also make it a lot easier to handle both left and right handed players in the same session compared to many of the more common camera based systems (such as skytrack, gc2, gcquad). And some might loose just a little bit of horizontal spin accuracy due to gear effect for off center hits. All pretty minor as far as accuracy of the results is concerned. I understand the dots on balls. I’m talking about placing dots on the clubhead like in a launch monitor fitting. I know MEVO+ won't display face and path measurements. But, I do wonder if they would be measured or calculated in the background...

Obviously, no one has a mevo+ in hand, yet. I'm betting it will be great given FS's experience in rolling out the original mevo. @ddetts posted an Instragram exchange where Mark Immelman made a complimentary post and answered a few questions about the mevo+. Again, the original mevo works well at 8 feet of flight, but that's just ball speed and total spin. Will 8 feet be enough for mevo+ to find spin axis, calc lateral spin and extrapolate curvature for sim purposes? We will see...
