That's because it’s not a Srixon. They all fall under the same big company. It doesn’t make business sense to release a Srixon wedge when Cleveland has them already and they are pretty good wedges.

Cleveland wedges already have a following and good market share. Why would Srixon enter the market and cannibalize their own sales? I love the RTX4.

Trust me when I say, if a consumer is at a store and sees a Srixon wedge next to a Cleveland wedge, the majority of them would pick up the Cleveland wedge first. I get where you’re going with this and I partially agree but Cleveland is arguably one of the best Wedge makers on the market.

 

Maybe Srixon should look into releasing a forged wedge to accompany the RTX line

I have dabbled in a lot of Srixon over the last few years and I have to say I am a believer. 745s are one of the best irons to ever hit the market. Stupidly sold them but now have some 765/965 combos and will be putting some shafts in them I like better. I have played their drivers, hybrids, woods, wedges, balls, bags... nothing has been a disappointment. They deserve any recognition they get. Quality.

the 85 iron line is ridiculously good. just would like to see the utility irons blend better. lofts at 19/22/25 would be better. otherwise, dont change much when you have a proven winner.

What I don’t understand about Cleveland and Srixon is that Srixon has many shafts and grip offerings for zero up charge while Cleveland charges for these. Why wouldn’t they offer for free as well...anyone know?

Headed to an iron fitting on Wednesday, and a combo set of 785 in some fashion is high on the agenda. Best round I played this years, irons-wise, was when I played with my pro’s 585/785 set.

My first round with my new combo set produced first 10 holes w GIR and finished with 15-18 for the day. I'm typically 11-13 a round. Great start and January to boot. Excited to see if I can move my avg up to 13-14 around in 2020. Love these things. The highlight was a 4 iron 215 w a cut to about 20 feet on our demanding par 3 second hole. The 585 irons make hitting easy. Of course I'm playing a 4 at 21* loft so in essence its really a 3.

I wonder if they will bump up their prices like every other oem. One great thing about Srixon is their prices. They could actually bump their prices and still remain below the other majors based on how high they have gotten over the last cycle.

Very nice!!! I did my fitting with everything from Vega Mizar, to Honma 747 Tour V, Mizuno MP20 series, etc, etc, and the 785 came out on top! I ordered the 585 in the 4/5 irons, and 6-PW in the 785. Modus 120X shafts.

I am SO stoked! Hopefully I’ll be hitting more greens like you are.

Tell ya what, those are still my favorite looking blade out there but I’ll be damned if the Z Forged aren’t a better playing iron for me. They have been phenomenal.

Srixon makes some great irons! I was tempted by the New Z forged but been in blades for 35 years just needed to move on

I also bag 785-Z forged combo and love them. Coming from mizuno my whole life I’ve been very impressed. The blades are very underrated. Easy to hit and soft. They are a bit longer heel to toe and I had to adjust the lofts because they were strong. Would like to see their next blade be slightly more compact but overall their as good as any right now.

Most have touched on why, but to add on further: Callaway doesn't have any putters but they are still the #1 putter manufacturer and seller in the world with Odyssey and Toulon under their belt. Further, they are so successful, that I remember for a stretch that went from roughly 2006-2015 Odyssey was the #1 putter being sold and the 2-ball putter alone was #2 on the market for sales. Goes to show you that you don't need your name on something if you already have a wildly popular line under your umbrella.

Back on topic, no new irons until late summer/early Fall of 2020 from what I have been told. The engineers have been working on new Cleveland (HB Turbo and UHX lines; CBX 2.0 and Frontline putters) and XXIO product (3 full lines launching from driver-SW + 2 putter lines). This has been the same product release they have had for a while on irons anyway. Drivers and fairway woods I think launch around the same time if not slightly, slightly sooner.

I was fit into the z forged over the summer and wanted to wait and see the new MP20s before making a decision. Z forged it is! Now the only thing I’ve been trying to decide on is either going 4-pw or going 785 4/5 then 6-pw z forged. Been leaning towards 4-pw. They are definitely underrated and super easy to hit! Either way I go they are going to be paired with C-Taper Lite 115X

I would definitely hit the irons before you decide on how to combo. I figured I’d do better with the 785 long irons but I actually ended up with the Z Forged 4-P. In fact, they were better than the 585 and U85 long irons for me as well.

Zero regrets w my combo set. 4-6 585s and super easy to launch. I could have easily a this stage of my life just went 4-P w the 785s but I played the 945s the past 4 years and plan on playing these for at least 5 or longer. As you are the longest iron in the bag is the toughest to hit but not true for me any longer as these irons are just so simple.

Ps. Keeping the 945s in the 2nd bag for business trips. And the enjoyment to hit but the 4 5 6 in the 585s are easier than the 945s at my age. Oh to be young.

I hit the whole line when I did my fitting. I was fit into 4-pw z forged, so that’s why I’m leaning that way. The 4 and 5 iron are actually pretty forgiving for being a blade.

I do wish I would've gone with the Z forged 6-9 instead of 7-9. Love the 785 but the blades are almost just as forgiving and I prefer the look. The lofts are also very different between these two sets so if you combo you will probably need to adjust them.

Thanks for the heads up! The more and more I read and think about it. I’m most likely just going to go with 4-pw. I was fit into it after all....
