Taylormade SIM hybrid?

Probably the longest hybrid I have gamed. Haven’t loved a hybrid this much since my Cobra F7.

The Tour Dept in Carlsbad. If you go to an aftermarket, they have to be careful. One could easily break the shaft in bending it I have learned. They may want to extract the shaft then bend it and replace the shaft afterwards.

See I’m not looking for hybrids to go as long as possible. I’m trying to fill the gap between 16.5 degree 4 wood and next longest iron.

Thanks. I contacted a reputable big name fitter here that will bend. Don’t know if they have the molds to do the bend proper but I’ll find out

Are you guys doing a 1 for 1 replacement here? Ex. 3H for 3 iron, 4H for 4 iron etc. Or is it 4h for 3 iron 5h for 4 iron etc?

True but anytime a PGA pro is out driven by a hybrid, albeit hit by DJ, it’s still impressive.

i think the fact DJ has put two of these hybrids in his bag is a testimony of how good they are.

I will say that I am a lot more curious about the new TM products after watching the tournament and DJ. Granted he could probably win a tournament with 20 year old clubs.

I tried very hard to like this, but it just draws too much for me. I’ve got it with an AD-DI 85X, I would like to try a 95 or 105X and see if that helps, but don’t want to drop $150 for that experiment. I’m going back a driving iron with graphite.

Both of those can be done by a professional club maker. Like another user stated, tech and overall club design is the same.

My #3 is 18* and is more like a 2 iron, My #4 is at 21.5* and it is more like a 3 to 3.5 iron in my bag.

Actually the head is the same! They only made one version and frankly didn't expect the acceptance among tour players. Typically most tour players play their clubs with a flatter lie than stock. They adjustments which are all personal are the shafts used which has to be the case as you can imagine if one has driver swing speed of 120 mph. There can be some hot melt put into the head which is also not uncommon and anyone can have that done with a club guy that knows what he is doing. But in the end the heads are the same heads as in the stores. The only thing is that each head for tour use are measured exactly for loft, lie, face angle and they can select the most exacting to fit each situation.

I’m sold on the SIM rescue 19 head, but stuck between the HZRDUS Smoke HY or Tensei Pro White HY shafts. What experiences can y’all share with one or the other? Has anyone Been able to test both for comparison?

I have both the TPW 100TX and the Smoke 100 6.5. The smoke is more accurate because its a more linear (stiffer) profile whereas the TPW has the soft handle and has a tendency to hook on me. Much more comfortable on a tight driving hole pulling out either Smoke 100 6.5 or the Black 105 6.5 than the TPW, especially if there is trouble left........

I asked this earlier, but do you find these to be a one to one replacement for the iron or is a 22* really more of a 3 iron replacement etc?

Does a 3H or 4H replace the respective iron or are they a little linger where a 3 iron replacement is actually a 4h?

Because hybrids are usually built with lighter and/or longer shafts (not to mention higher launch due to deeper CG), I've always found my hybrids to be quite a bit longer than the respective iron. This is why I only play one hybrid, if any at all. Prefer a 5 wood and a driving iron that I can also hit off the deck so I get the best of all worlds.

Yeah some hybrids in the past have been marketed as iron replacement but currently I can only think of Cobra OL hybrids as direct iron replacements.

Great content. Biggest issue is swing weight when shortening them to normal lengths
