Does anyone know if this is a “loft up” head as the SLDR was touted? I believe I read someone mentioning that you should loft up, but I can’t believe they would make an 8 degree head if that’s the case.

Money is out hitting balls in the snow... LOL...but if you watch the TXG youtube of the SIM vs M5 you will learn that the SIM is lower spin for the same loft.

With a lower loft M5 it is likely with similar spin to the SIM you will see similar distance.

What impressd the TXG guys was the STABILITY of the SIM head by comparison to the M5.

Thanks for the response. I guess I was looking to compare it to the lower spinning drivers like the M5 Tour and TS4. But you’re right, it does sound like it’s lower spin than M5.

I believe the SIM is low spin like SLDR but not as low launching like SLDR was. I am 108 to 110 SS with a driver and I was launching the 9* loft around 13-14 with 1800 to 2000. If I would hit a slight draw with it then the back spin would drop by 300 rpms. So I think this years models are designed more for the fader of the ball than a draw player.

Just hit SIM and SIM Max in stock setups. I am a 5 handicap and generally hit up on driver +4-5* and am generally ~150-155 mph ballspeed.

SIM 10.5: was getting 14-15* launch with 2200-2500 spin

SIM Max 9: was getting 12-14* launch with 2300-2600 spin

SIM 8: got 11 launch and 1500 spin (was just trying it for fun)

I think for my ballspeed and consistency the Max seems like the right choice, but am intrigued by the 10.5 SIM and the potential for high launch low spin bombs.

Yes, the SIM is definitely a low spin driver. I only hit it on an outdoor range so feedback is limited. I can already tell it’s going to be a beast though...

Those swing numbers are close to mine and if I can get those SIM Max launch conditions, I’ll put it in the bag immediately. Love my TS3, but tend to spin it near 3K.

I play the M5 9* with a Diamana LTD 60X shaft. I played the SIM 10.5* turned down one notch yesterday for 9 holes, immediately following the front nine with my M5. Same shaft. Immediately noticed a tingier sound than the M5, not bad, just different. Will get hot melted and should be fine. What I can say for sure is that, while it was lighter than my gamer, it was more forgiving. Flight was slightly higher with the higher loft, but everything was coming out straight. The reason demoed the 10.5 was that hitting the 9.0* with the exact same settings as my M5 had too little spin. They were dropping out of the air. When I cranked the 9 to 2 clicks higher, the head looked more closed than I like. Really liked the SIM and placed an order.

I've done it a few times; it's really easy. You pay full price up front and then they credit your card after your trade is received and evaluated. I've always received the full amount quoted to me at the time of purchase.

SIM Max 10.5

spent time yesterday on Trackman hitting a demo M6 10.5 and was surprised at the low 2K spin I consistently got with a similar shaft, and topped out at 167BS, 315 yards +/- and consistently 280+ carry, which I will take given its winter swings.

given that Max is supposed to be a touch faster than M6, with a bit tighter dispersion, I was comfortable in ordering blind.

i had to offload my Flash SZ as I can’t get the spin above 2K no matter what shot shape or spin shaft I use.

9.0 SIM ordered. First time I've ever jumped on a new release.

Really wanted the mavrik to work. It's longer than sim and sim max. But it go can left, hard. As a fader who tends to be toe side of center...a ball that turns left on an otherwise solid strike is no bueno.

I hit the SIM 9* yesterday at my local PGA Superstore. Used my Tensei Pro White 60S and went back and forth against my M5 9* banging balls for about an hour. Probably hit 50-60 shots with each. In the end, I was getting the same results as the TXG guys. Better dispersion, slightly lower spin, 6 yds more carry, 11 yds more total distance. My SS is 102-105 mph and I was getting an average of 265 carry and mid 290s total adjusted for mile high here in Denver.

I've been hitting my M5 pretty well but the SIM sits a touch more square at address, which I really like. Not sure what the total out of pocket would be on the M5 trade (would be interested to hear what your experiences have been) but I don't think I'll get one on first release if it's going to cost me $300.

how much weight do you need to add if you cut off an inch?

Probably 6-8 grams. I'm hoping TM releases weight options for both the front ( standard SIM) and back weight. I think the back weight is around 10 grams in the standard SIM. I'd like to get a 15-20 gram weight for the back and play at 45".
