Did Your club come very light in Swing weight? As stated before, I was told they are now adjusting Custom Shop SIM orders to "standard" swing weight, not a custom chosen swing weight just standard. Interested to hear your build specs.

I am swinging the standard SIM with the stock HAz green 70g 6.5. I have the weight all the way out on the toe and I hit some of the absolute best drives I have ever hit Saturday. This was playing with a ball that I dont think is as optimized for me as it could have been. It was too soft.

Can some of you that have received shipping confirmations or that have already received their custom SIM orders post your order date? Heading to Streamsong on 02/08 and trying to get an idea of how quick TM is turning the orders around. My estimated ship date when I ordered was 02/07 but I know when I ordered my P790 they shipped out like 3-4 days before the estimated date.

Ordered mine 1/10/2020 and received today 1/27/20.

SIM 8* with Ventus Black 7x.

Just put on the MCC plus 4 black/blue grip and waiting for it to dry.

Ordered last week (revised today however) but projected shipping date is still 2/7. Switched to SIM instead of Max with Ventus Black.

I also ordered it with 1" soft shaft tip which I'm told would be no tipping due to TaylorMade tipping all shafts 1".

Looking at the tip to Velocore graphic it appears they got it right and didn't tip the Ventus which is great and amazing all at once.

I messaged my fitter the other day regarding it and he simply stated 'I found it to be same ball speed/spin but lower launch - M5 will be pretty timeless I think.' I was going to go hit the SIM later but wanted to hear thoughts on it here first.

So you already received your custom order and it sounds like they got the tipping (or lack thereof) correct? Good to know.

Big fan of the M5 but unscientifically I found it a little short of previous drivers based on where I was hitting on numerous courses I was very familiar with. Dispersion was pretty good and sound was improved over previous iterations so I figured I could tweak it but could just never get the right setup.

Something always bothered me about the M5/6. I hit a demo really well coming out of winter but by the time real golf started I was back to Ping. So far I really like what I see from the SIM though.

I went to m5 from m4 because m5 at 10.5 lowered to 9.75 was higher launch and lower spin than 8.5 m4. But m4 was faster by 3-4 mph. M5 was so freaking straight.

I tested sim, sim max, and mavrik against my m5 head to head on back to back days. Mavrik was faster than both sims by 1 mph...

Sims were really close to each other. But they were faster than m5 by about 3mph consistently. Ordered sim.

One of the things about m5 I loved was that ballspeed was consistent across the face. My distance dispersion was really tight with it. TM maintained that and got me faster. I ended up in a 9.0 sim. Launch a touch lower than m5 at 9.75 but spin pretty close...negligible difference in spin.

Look at Hideki's SIM Max in the WITB thread. He has the top of the face painted/sharpied black. It is subtle at first, but if you compare it to the pics in this thread, IMO, it looks a thousand times better at address. Thinner white strip, straighter leading edge.

For me... hot both SIM vs. my M5. Regular SIM was about 6 yards longer vs. M5 carry with better dispersion (both 9 deg heads). I had a bit lower launch angle and a couple hundred less rpm spin with the reg SIM. Last time I went to the indoor range, I hit the SIM max at 9 deg. and got similar distance results as the regular SIM with maybe a bit more spin (probably close to what I'm seeing with my M5) but better dispersion than both M5 and reg SIM. I would play either the regular or the max. Just need to sell a couple things to get the loot

Darn, I didn't wanna hear that. I just got the M5 a few months back and was just getting used to it. Guess I'll have to test out the new SIM and get ready for TM to take more of my money... Thanks guys!

Any opinions on sound? The sound that the M5 makes on contact is so pure and nice, was wondering how the SIM sounds.

Believe me, I know. I bought the m5 in late Oct or early Nov. Bst listing for $290. It'll trade for $235 so I rented it for less than $20 per month...

I always had those 2-4 mph in my head with m5 but I couldn't pass up more fairways back in October. My scores improved overnight. M4 was costing me at least a shot per round, maybe 1.5 even.

I'm not a good judge on sound. Sound really doesn't bother me. I even hit the epic flash and that sound didn't bother me. But I gamed the cleveland hibore xl for about 8 years and that thing sounded like a canon going off...and it didn't bother me. Kind of liked it. Range ego...

Wait, do you get 150% of the price shown on the TM site? I just assumed whatever value came up had the 150% factored in already. So when I see the M5 come up at $156, it’s actually $234?

I really like the sound of a center strike on M5. The SIM is just a little better in my opinion. I'd still get one if it sounded exactly the same but I like the SIM better. And I like the way it sits address better than the M5. A touch more closed when left to "sole" itself, if you know what I mean. I can get the M to sit square but it takes me adjusting at the handle to do so. SIM wants to sit square by itself.

The $156 is just the standard trade in value. Once you add the Sim to the cart you will see the extra bonus added. I got $206 for my m6 and $112 for my m3 fairways, not bad!

That's correct. I traded in my M5 and M5 Tour for $468 total. Plus military discount and cashed in some loyalty points.

My custom SIM was $810 and after all was said and done cost me $117 OTD.

Nice...yep I was looking at values but didn’t have any SIM item added to the cart. Thanks guys! It’s interesting, some items are a bit better than expected, and others are just not as much of a slap in the face with the 150%...probably going to be some strategy here as to what I trade in.
