Totally agree .Something isn't right.

Not saying it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the sound is very muted and solid. Very similar to M5.

Yes, it is totally weird, i just weighed it with the Ventus Blue 6X with golf pride zgrip Currently i have a Accra RPG in it at 44.75" and it weighs D4......not sure why the head was so heavy with the Ventus Blue ( non Velocore )

Just set up my driver with a Ventus Blue 6X w/ velocore and it weighs in at D3.5 at 45" with a heavy Midsized grip, the Zcord, my best guess is that this driver would weigh D5 + with a normal size grip.

Played a crispy 18 holes today with the new setup. Fairway with tour ad mt felt good but the star was the driver with the Daytona speeder shaft. Sure it's expensive as hell but I think it is extremely smooth and stable at 2.7 torgue. Hit some great shots and looking forward to more on Sunday and forward.

I am really enjoying the sound/feel of the sim woods. Superb imo. My friend got a mavrik and that sounds like a sniper rifle haha

Btw I have my SIM playing at 45" and it comes in at D2.

Same issue as me.

My head weighs in at 193g, I was getting high blocks on the setting I had 1 lower to standard. Put it to the lowest setting and helped but now the club head looks so open at address.

My flash with same shaft and grip weighs 14g more. The 2nd outing was better but the spin seems to be all over the place which is a concern.

Mine came in at 194. Added 6gr lead tape to bring it to 200gr. Fees good now. Also dropped it 1 more notch to 9*

really liking the feel and look of this.

going to mess with a couple different shafts and will get on track man.

Ok gents, let's hear about those rounds today...

Hit my SIM on 9 holes today. Played in a 3 club wind. Hit 6 fairways of the 9 driver holes. The 3 fairways I missed? All par 5 holes with hard left to right wind. As a fader, that's the toughest wind for me. Hit it right on all 3 holes...water on 2 of the 3 but made par on both.

This was the first round with the 4g weight added to the front track and it was definitely better than 4g lead tape further back.

Traded my Sim 10.5 with green smoke for a sim max 9 with ventus stock shaft. 1st round with max today was way better dispersion. Max much better fit for my swing. This combo i control better and like the shape/flight of my drives. All my buddies that have regular sim are crushing it...just didnt work for me...

Got my SIm head today and it looks amazing down by the ball. Beat looking driver from TM in awhile and I have had them all! Shape is different than the M5 and I like it.

This is a legit question, not being facetious. SIM/Max head weights are supposed 193g/195g. My Max came in at 194g. Fine. How are some of you guys getting heads at 200g? That seems way off manufacturers allowable tolerance, no?

I'm only guessing...but while TM doesn't do custom swing weights, they do get drivers up to standard swing weight if you order a shorter shaft. Perhaps TM is putting heavier back weights on some drivers to get sw up to standard...

Hi, good question. I ordered mine at 45’’, and requested D4 swingweight. In order to meet that request, Taylormade adjusted the back weight to make a heavier head. In my case, the head ended up at 200g. Hope that helps!

Got it. That makes sense. Didn’t know those were custom heads. I got mine built at CC it’s D6, but they add weight to the epoxy of the adapter to the shaft, not the head. Thanks for the info!

Just picked up a Max today and it came in at 194 on my kitchen scale

Played 1st tourney round with new SIM Max 9* with Ventus Black 7x tipped 0.5" and it was straight bullets. Unfortunately putter let me down but the driver was the best club in my bag. Missed 2 days with it left but they were pulls that I was trying to fade and just went straight. Distance was comparable to my last driver (17 M2 9 5* with Fuji Pro TS 73x), maybe added 5 yards but flight is slightly lower and It is more stable. I had a couple of heel misses that ended up dead center of the fwy and still long. I couldn't be more happy with this club.

Coming from TS3, 10.5 w/ hzrdus smoke:

I hit TS3 straight, 99 - 101 mph, 3000’s spin 230’s carry

Fit into Max, 9 w/ accra TZ6:

Still straight, 102-104, low-mid 2000’s spin high 240’s - sometimes low 250’s carry.

Tried Cobra, 410 and Mavrik offerings...all were good. Again, straight isn’t my problem. I was looking for more speed and this helped.
