Good to see some turnover, hopefully it holds up. Watched the '10 USWO today and Paula's win got me thinking about SC Captains... We have way too many ladies avail for upcoming Captain's sports. To many, in fact, so some are going to be left out. Juli as Captain 3 times made this dilemma even worse.

There's the obvious players viable for upcoming SC's after '21 and Pat Hurst...

Christie Kerr - would kinda be the "old guard" for lack of a better word transitioning to more recent (recent being relative I suppose) SC players like Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Angela Stanford, Stacey Lewis, - that's 10 years (after 2021) right there. Then younger but still likely obvious upcoming choices include Brittany Lincicome, Lizette Salas, Lexi Thompson, Michelle Wie, so we are out to 18 years.

Leaving out some other that might get consideration - One that jumps out is Wendy Ward. While not playing in a bunch of SC's (3 cups, but 0-7 in her last two) like most of the above ladies, she has been a Asst. Captain many times, which in the past was an indicator for upcoming Capt. assignment, buy I don't think that will hold true here. Due to the depth of longer active SC players, I can't see her be tagged as Caption and her timetable is winding up. IF it happens, you would think it would have to be '23, and would probably required Kerr not wanting it that year as well.

Other players that are younger or have less appearances that the main list above, but can improve (or degrade) their chances over the next 5-10 years... Gerina Piller, Danielle Kang, the Korda Sisters, etc.

And the wildcard - Brittany Lang. Often overlooked, and really belongs in the first list above, but not as prevalent/recognizable as some of the more fan favorite types. But she played on a ton of SC's and is a US Women's Open winner - so I suspect she will be slotted in as Captain as some point.

Now... all that being said... And this is from a SC Fanboy... the SC is rapidly becoming the "Bronze Medal Game" of sorts... When the teams are having to pull players in the 80's and higher on the Rolex Ranking, you're obviously not putting the worlds premier players in the mix. Which is a whole 'nother discussion I won't even begin to get into.

So Kupcho has played her way in thus far due to Rolex Rankings.

Khang, Salas and Yin (Annie Park also) have some work to do to make the team again.

Amy Olson could be odd woman out again.

I'd like to see Jennifer Song keep up her good play and play herself in.

I think there is almost no way a healthy Stacy Lewis gets left off the team since the event is in her birth place.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.

It scrambles the numbers and the #1 is the first place and the #2 is the second etc. If the winner has duplicate entries we count the first
