I switched from the perfect practice to the wellputt. I never really knew what speed it was to make it up the ramp, so the well putt is much easier to gauge speed. I do miss how fast the perfect practice rolled, but have sped up my wellputt a bit by rolling it with a smooth foam roller.

foam roller like the kind used for physical therapy? interesting. i have my mat in the amazon shopping cart. hopefully the wifey will let this be an early bday present.

Yeah, one of the smooth ones. When it gets vacuumed the pile gets pulled up a bit I think, so I can roll it down to speed it up

SO the ramp was your issue with the perfect practice mat?  What surface do you use the wellputt mat on?  Which one is better for setting up on a carpet(that's where mine would have to go)?

Yes, the speed and the level of the ramp itself wasn't the best, ie it could track straight on the flat part and break on the ramp, the wellputt is longer/wider as well. Both were on hard floors, I don't think either would work well on carpet unless its very short/dense as they are both thin/pliable enough to be rolled up

I just ordered the 13 foot version. I was watching a video recently featuring Brad Faxon and he mentioned he had a Wellputt mat in his office. I don't think he's paid to endorse their product so if it's good enough for Brad Faxon it should be good enough for me.

 

I'll post an update when it arrives and I've had a chance to use it.

When rolling up your WellPutt which end is on the inside? Zone 18 or the “good zone”?

I rotate which way I roll it up, try to keep it even - great product

Know you posted this a while ago, but I was curious why you wouldn't go down the birdie ball path again? I am considering well putt or birdie ball

Birdie ball is just foam.  Compresses under feet and doesn’t look good.  Massively over priced for what it is.
