Nike VR Pro Blade LOVE

Ok so after reading avout the availability of the lefty version still in plastic out in the wild, I picked up a set. I coudn't stand not having them, so I ultimately ordered them and put them in play today. I played nine holes with them and also brought the 5 and 9 irons from my MP 20 set and my MB 18 set. I have to say that the VR Pro's absolutely stole the show. They were so pure and consistent. I absolutely love them. With the exception of a 465 yard par 4, I tee'd off on every hole with the 3 iron, just to see what I was dealing with. Long and straight. Mis hits were very manageable. Short irons were like throwing darts, even in the gusty 25 mph wind I had today. Long story short, I will be using these as my primary gamers and I am going to unload both sets of MB18's and probably dump the MP 20's as well. This is not an indictment against either set. The Callaways and Mizunos are beautiful and play very well. The Nike irons, even though they are almost 10 years old, just spoke to me on the course the way no iron ever has. Maybe it was the heads or maybe it was the S300 AMT shafts, but either way, these clubs are winners. I know there will be many haters of this post for a variety of reasons, but to each his own, I just had to share this experience.

Got mine yesterday, 2-pw. Had my fitter adjust the lie angle and put my sryle grips on. Hopefully will get out tomorrow morning if the rain holds.

Argh. They were out of butter knives when I ordered mine but they are SWEET. I will be regripping mine tonight. Will have the lofts double checked this weekend, but I am luckily an "off the rack guy" and the lie angles seemed to be perfect.

Lofts were spot on, lie angles were a little off (+/- half degree) on 3 of the irons according to the vr spec sheet. They do look sweet.

I hadn't hit the S300 AMT before. They are really nice shafts. BTW, those are great pics!

I don't remember them being any better (or any worse) than other clubs I'd owned. I liked the long irons in the combo set, they gave a unique click when hit. But comparing them to modern irons, well I don't know. I don't know if I've had a set of irons that I've sat there and gone, wow. Irons are irons. If the lofts and shaft lengths are the same then I generally don't notice too much off a difference. That said, my AP3 four and five iron, and MP20 long iron MP20 HMB are rocket ships. But I have a sneaky feeling that's a loft thing...

My VR Pro's have beat out Blueprints, Wilson Staff Blades, MP 4's and 5's. They just flat out perform. I try all the new stuff every year but always come back. Glad I have 2 back up sets. Congrats on the purchase!!

I've had mine for 6 years, and have no plans to get rid of them.

Just replaced the shafts with Black Onyx AMT S300 (hard stepped), with ProSoft inserts, ferrules from Cell Parts, and Iomic iXx grips. Awesomeness.

Man, I went through the same thing, have been obsessing for a while looking at those beautiful things around the web, but decided to go a different route. I will have them at some point. They just look soooooo clean!

Yes, but I've seen a few sets in mint condition on Ebay in the last few months.

There's a reason why Tommy was so keen to find another set, they are an absolutely glorious set of irons (in my entirely unbiased opinion) - one of the best sets of blades ever. I kept an eye out for set for ages, eventually stumbled across a set with S400 Ti's for 220 quid so bought them instantly. Had them delivered and found out they were half an inch longer than standard (my spec), and had a satin rather than chrome finish, and were fitted with ribbed Tour Velvets.

Recently put them up against the MP 20 and 620 MB, and whilst the newer models were excellent, the Nikes were 5 yards longer and straighter.

Just got mine in too, Have only hit the 4 iron and 7 iron on sim, but I'm impressed. Performance is the same, if not a little better, than the T100!

I brought them out to the range today, it was raining and windy. Didn't care, they are glorious. All you lefties, get them while you can if you have the funds. You will regret it later. They are as good or better than my MP-20s and MP-32s.

It is crazy how unpopular they were in 2011, 2012. I guess people really didn't like the idea of Nike golf clubs but I believe I am going to get a backup set. I could buy three sets for what I paid for my MP 20'S. Seems like a no brainier to me. I out validating yesterday now and hoping to bring out the flightscope on the course today to get some numbers

I have found all my back up sets used for no more the $350. Keep looking, there out there. As long as they aren't worn down to the metal they'll be good. Sent them out to the Iron Factory for re-chroming. They strip all the old chrome, remove any imperfections and re-groove & re-chrome. They come back looking better than new. The guys at Artisan recommend the Iron Factory as well. The satin finish is dope!

yeah. Tommy Fleetwood had to change his sponsor just because of that. mint ones show up on ebay UK from time to time tho. a UK seller also sells some new heads. i've got a few new heads from UK to complete a set. the only b$%%^ is the shipping.

Artisan Golf can provide Fleetwood with an exact copy of the VR blades to any spec he wants.

Best irons I've ever owned. Gets a bit "small" once I get to the 4 iron, but for me the 5-pw blades are deadly. I never feel like I'm going to miss the green standing over the ball and love how they cut through the turf. Slices through the rough like butter. I wanted to like the MP-20's more, but even they couldn't beat our my pros.....I have 8 sets ???.

In my limited time with the VR Pros, I like the VR Pro turf interaction better than my MP-20.
