Mavrik vs SIM

If you watch the fitting video you’ll see that they tested a bunch of different shafts for each head and matched them up based on the best results for each combo. Granted, the fitting video is nearly three hours but what the hell else do we have to watch right now ?

Both drivers were optimally fit for him. There's a 2.5 hour video of them doing the fit. Mavrik smashed it for Matt's swing. That's the key. Some people will hit Sim longer some will hit others longer. Personally, I tried my TS3 against SIM and Mavrik and got better numbers, but that's because it's fit for me with a shorter shaft/more head weight. This is the first driver that I have quarter sized sweet spot swear on. I'll be doing a driver fit when all of this virus sh*t clears up and I'll see if anything can kick it out of the bag. Very intrigued by Mavrik (other than the colour).

I tested both models of SIM and Mavrik reg and sub zero and SIM was longer and more accurate with better numbers across the board (for me). My brother had best results with SIM max. Which is why everyone should get fit or test themselves when buying clubs. They are both excellent drivers but everyone these days makes good drivers since they're all basically at their limits.

I can't remember where SIM was in the 2.5 hour fitting video, but I wonder why they went away from the Nemesys shaft in the SIM. That combo put some bombs on the table in the 16 m2, 17 m1, sim video. The nemesys didn't have nearly as much curve as what the diamana was giving matt in the vs mavrik video.

That is the only negative with Matt-y but overall still great content. His SS is up almost 10 Mph from a year or so ago as well.

More telling to me was a few weeks back when he hit Mav vs Rogue and they just didn't perform any differently for Matt. For me, they very well may as I have a few heel strikes a round off the toe, so unsure which club retains more stability with that, so I'll just have to rough it and try it out this year in the sim and demo day.

That last session with Mavrik standard was 'Filthy' as Ian wowed a few times.

His dispersion was the more noticeable thing to me. Matt's dispersion was exactly what i saw with the SIM and why I favor the SIM MAX. I couldn't get the SIM to behave.

Callaway loved that video. It's a good head but anyone who's hit it knows that it can spin up a bit too much. I hit it and the sub zero. I couldn't keep spin low enough with the non sub zero head.

They got matt dialed in...or at least for the swing he brought to that bracket match up, the mavrik setup worked really well.

Go back and watch the SIM vs m2 vs 17 m1. They had matt in sim with nemesys. Not sure why they ended up with him in sim and diamana in the fitting video. But that sim and nemesys setup put up numbers a lot closer to mavrik. SIM with nemesys was much straighter. That diamana was delivering 2 degrees more side angle at impact...much more curvature...and that kills distance.

The thing that I notice most was that Matt (who almost always turns the ball over past the center line) was really struggling to do that with the SIM. I have read that it is "fade biased" and this video proved that to me.

If you haven't watched a lot of TXG videos this winter then you have missed some swing changes Matt's been working on. Not saying sim isn't fade biased, I believe it is. But matt has been working to get a lot less in to out on path. He's got a way to go still. You can see from the bracket videos that he's well inside and flat on the takeaway then his hands work a bit over the top in transition. He's going to struggle with a 2 way miss until all of his swing changes are locked in...probably several.months, more if he's not hitting balls often enough.

One thing is very clear, mavrik and mavrik max are very straight. Probably the driver matt needs for competition. But one that could mask his faults while undergoing significant swing changed...

Correct. But there is useful data one can gain from these reviews or tests. But if you want to find out which is the best for you then it's a pointless exercise.
