I definitely prefer a 22° 4 iron and a 46° PW. Srixon has the lofts just right. It helps to have the extra distance at the top to narrow the gap to hybrids and fairways. Could never play a 44˚PW though. Only way I would play these is if I blended them with the T100 short irons.

Sometimes my 4iron and 5 iron are a little too close in carry distance. Adding a T100s 4 iron to my T100 set could be a reasonable solution. What do y’all think?

I understand why this is puzzling to some but I can’t believe the good luck for my personal needs. 100-S in 6i and 7i (w/7i one degree weak) and 100 in 8i and 9i. Hybrids above and Vokeys below. The single loft adjustment is only one degree and in the direction that yields less offset and more bounce and as a bonus it will look like a matched set vice a Frankenset.

100s are fully forged from what I recall in one of the articles. Don’t remember if t100 are. Could be the reason

This is a good thing for me as i like to bend clubs weaker to take some offset out, add a little bounce, and spread out the lofts more, i like 4* between clubs so i can start with a 23* 4 iron, up to a 47* PW.

Makes them Virtually the same as the normal T100 but with less offset and slightly more bounce

Definitely going to make me buy some in the future

I understand that, but it’s probably not too big of an issue with these. That pre worn grind on the front is pretty good and will most likely keep them from digging.

My point is, just offer a power lofts like others do. Doesn’t need to be a whole new iron model.

what does ping do with regards to bounce when you order power loft?

Picturing these in black finish with matching blacked out PX LZ’s with GP Tour Wraps. Gap out SM8’s with the same set up for 48/52/56/60. Titleist also tweaked the CG's in these, longer irons are slightly larger and get smaller down the set(not sure if the regular t100 do this?), and Ping Power spec is not bent 2 degrees across the board its much less

If a player gaps his irons properly (mine are traditionally gaped and lofts) and hits them well, gaps are reflected down range keeping the yardage spread and distance control consistent.

Ego has nothing to do with proper iron gaping, consistent gaping, however, does. Ego is what drives people to think by increasing lofts, they will hit the ball father. Actually, all that does for average Joe golfer is increase spin and almost force him to use hybrid replacement irons because he can't effectively hit long irons. Besides, various strong lofted iron sets have been around for a while now, giving Index stats a chance to support your claim, yet it doesn't bear any support saying average golfers are hitting irons further. My 2cents.

this guy gets it. Its not just about distance, its about what is useable.This option from Titleist helps guys like Superbrit take a set and weaken it with reduced offset (over the original T100)and also helps other guys take a CB club and flight it lower like an MB but with the added forgiveness. This is a better option to control flight and spin over a shaft change. And I assume that Titleist is bending a whole lot of the original T100 sets for pros anyway so why not make a set that doesn't impact offset or bounce? I also read that here that someone is most likely getting a T100s 4 iron to add to his set of T100 irons to better gap between the 4 and 5 irons... that's more what this is about... not ego.

Hope you're a digger because weakening the lofts will add bounce to your clubs. Some fitter like that but if you hardly take a divot its not going to be a happy ending.

We know to play good golf one must exhibit self-control in his decisions on the golf course. That's also a fact throughout the rest of life. If someone makes a quick decision without considering what might happen down the road affecting that decision, he doesn't get a do-over. Same is true for a bad shot or not so good purchase, no do-overs. The people that get angry over conditions or purchases show immaturity.

Fact of life, company's operate on a P&L. For that reason, they don't react to a customers childish anger and offer latest innovations to replace the products he/she bought a month back. If a person exhibits self-control and waits to see what unfolds he would have the opportunity to instead to buy T100-S irons. It's that simple. Probably something that Club-ho's won't get. Being a CEO and Titleist fan their decision makes perfect sense for the P&L. Put products in the market to see what users do with them or want different.

I began thinking about new irons 6-8 months back but I don't change irons easily. I intermittently looked at what OEM's had available but opted to wait and see what comes down the road. Glad I did. Titleist introduced 620MB&CB's so I bought some amazing clubs. Good life and good golf 101 are all about measured judgment and self-control. Hit'em straight, if you can.

From what I am reading the sole grind is changed on the T100s and the face is thinner than the T100 with the sane amount of offset in both clubs. All Ping does is bend the irons

My due diligence says that T100 and T100s are essentially the same except the latter clubs internal design was reworked/modified to work with 2* stronger lofts. That means adjusting COG down to offset 2* increase in loft in each iron, and modify the Tungsten pieces in the toe & heal, adjust the leading edge and sole camber, etc. As a side note, watch how many people that lack the needed skill buy T100s clubs.

I agree it's a nonsensical reaction, these things happen it's tough luck!

I do wonder though if people will start to become wary of Titleist releases, they did similar with the TS series drivers, releasing two completely different performing heads causing frustrating amongst their customers.

But if a person bought a club that was not suited for their game is that their fault or the brands fault when the release another club in the same category 6-12 months later to meet a consumer demand?

Ping did it with the g400 max and they have done just fine

Oh I'm not blaming anyone, or saying Titleist is at fault. It's not a judgemental post I'm just commenting on the reaction I remember seeing on here when the TS1 and TS4 got released.

These are new heads while being stronger and retaining the originals bounce and turf interaction. Turf interaction is #1 one priority in a players type iron. If you just make the lofts stronger to by 2 degrees the head starts looking weird at address. You decrease bounce while adding offset. I give Titleist credit for offering a legit fitting option here.

Pretty much everyone wants this Mizuno still gasnt figured it out with MP line.Compressing a traditionally lofted iron will get you more distance? Maybe more spin I could believe.

Proper compression with any iron will get more distance, a lot of people who flip at impact prefer the stronger lofts. That said I think Titleist wanted these in there to be able to blend the other 3 sets better, and spin could potentially be an issue as well.
