2020 Titleist T100-S Iron in hand pics

Recommended Posts

Some years back I used to be a Titleist obsessive, but I got over it after some extended counselling . So much so, in fact, that I have been ambivalent about their releases for a good while now (not counting the CB/MBs which always look great).

However, these really do look very nice and have piqued my interest. The address profile is particularly appealing (minimal offset, thin top line etc.). Also, I realise these are the "power spec" option but the lofts aren't that strong. A 32° 7 iron isn't crazy by any means.

Well this is just great. I bought 718 CB’s with Project X LZ 6.0’s and use them every day at the range as my practice set to make me a better ball striker. I finally bought the T100’s on Halloween wit

Other great benefit of these are if you want to weaken the lofts back to std t100 specs to take offset away

Loft is still loft...power spec is simply ego driven...hey, I hit my 7iron as far as you hit 6 iron... No, you hit a 30 degree iron as far as i hit a 30 degree iron. Yours just has a 7 stamped on it s

Man why do people have to hate on a guy that can hit a iron father then they can? I play with a guy at my home course that hits 2iron on number 7 which is 255 uphill slightly and he gets on the front of the green all the time. Does that mean he should be on tour? Not even close, he is just blessed with tons of speed. I really wish it would stop.

Due to cold weather, index is up to around 5 right now, and my traditional lofted 620MB 7i covers 150yds, 3i covers 190+ yds using ProV1, both straight and I am almost 70. Yippy... Is there a prize?

I don't think it's a joke. The main subject was T100-S jacked irons. What you left out is the many tour guys (I've played with many) that hit it big or not play more traditional lofted irons, maybe with a few jacked clubs, also how many posters do NOT remotely hit 7i 185yrds without using really jacked club or Iron Byron to pinch hit. Enjoy

I am sure some people will brag about hitting a 7 iron a specific distance but for some of us, the T100s provide better gapping. I built my hybrid and wedges around a 24.5* 5 iron and a 45.5* PW (current irons are TM PSI). I've since found out at a fitting that I should be hitting irons 2* flat rather than the standard loft of my current irons and it's about time for a new set of irons anyway. I really liked the T100 but a 27* 5 iron would leave too much gap between my 5 iron and hybrid (21*). Sure I could add a 4 iron to my set but then I would have to remove another club from my bag. With the T100s a 25* 5 iron should work (I will find out when I get fit) and while the 44* wedge might be a bit strong, I am comfortable with changing my swing length to control my wedge distance. Yes I could build a T200/T100 combo set which I might end up doing or bending T100s to meet my needs but I don't see the problem with companies offering traditional and strong lofts. I think having more choice is great. You're right, the number on the bottom of the club does not really mean much these days.

I am in this boat. I built a T200/T100 combo set and have them in the bag (it is winter). My issue is that I had to bend my T200 7 iron 1* weak and the T100 8 iron 2* strong and that still leaves a 5 degree gap between them, not to mention the bounce on the 8 is reduced severely. I didn't get a chance to really hit them outdoors so I don't know how much it will ultimately affect the turf interaction.

Ideally I would pair the T100S with the T200, but I already purchased. So now I have a dilemma. That part bothers me.

Does it really close the face? I'v just never heard that for bending irons. Woods with adjustable hosel, yes, due to the fixed and non-bendable angles of how the shaft orients in the head when you rotate it. Just curious.

You sure seem to care an awful lot about the distance debate. If someone wants to hit it 185, and still sucks, more power to them. It's no skin off your back that I'm aware of.

As much ego as their is in hitting that 7 iron 185 with jacked up lofts, you exhibit the same by letting everyone know (multiple times) you play the game properly with traditional lofted, muscleback irons. All the while, doing at the age of 70.

I'm curious about these clubs but I have a concern. Currently the longest iron I carris is a five iron. I can no longer create enough speed to get a usable trajectory with a four iron. Not enough loft on a four iron. getting old sucks. I wonder therefore if I can hit a five iron that's nearly as strong as the four iron I don't carry. Perhaps they have done something else to get a higher launch with the lower loft, but I need to see it to belie e it.

Care??? that word misinterprets my intent and reality. I do not care what you or anyone else chooses to put in the bag or how your clubs are configured. Not until someone boasts about hitting 7 iron 185yds, when its really a 4 or 5 iron loft do I say anything to the contrary. It's as if he's suggesting he's a big hitter when reality says it's nothing of the kind. I hit my MB 4i 180-185 yards.

Saying I play traditionally lofted MB irons is not boasting or blowing anything out of proportion, its my reality and fact. But because I am nearing 70 years old and still carding respectable scores with those clubs, that's a result of my physical conditioning and ball striking. Something you can hope to enjoy when your my age. Have a good day.

As I understand the T-100-S club heads are design modified to accommodate the 2-3* increase in loft. IMO, if your swing is solid you should be able to hit the T-100-S 5i at stock 38" length and 25* loft; the T-100 5i is 27*. However, the T-400 5i is 20* and may pose a problem getting the ball up. Your choice in shaft can help SS and elevate the ball.
