I‘m a Mizuno fanboy and Pepperell was the coolest dude on their roster IMO. The 14 club challenge vs. Ryan Fox was amazing.

He assured me it was going to be at no extra cost as I've already paid for the 919s up front before they told me they were discontinued. I was given the option at a refund or to wait until end of August. I'm getting the forged and he also said that they would be around $50aud per club more than the 919s.

Yes it was an Aus purchase. Seems they have done it a couple of times before.

That and you'll perhaps remain loyal be back for another set in a few years, new putter etc.

On that note, got my best custom set from Drummond in 2014 (TaylorMade TP CB '14) &...

... after a what felt like half a day at Drummond last week (trrying King Tec Forged, MMC, 919, TM790, Srixon z-Forged) and couldn't leave without being fitted for MP-20 HMBs!!

Good thing the 919s weren't for me as sounds like they wouldn't have been able to make an order anyway.

Being under lock-down it's going to be a very long 4 week wait, but will continue watching this thread to hear from those that end up with the 921s.

Had my GolfTec fitting today and we decided to wait for the new 921's. During the fitting, my fitter who is excellent, suggested I get my new irons made 1 3/4 over after taking my measurements. I'm a taller guy at 6'5. Was wondering the following. Once the 921's are in, how do we know what shafts to order noting my suggested length? Seems like GolfTec would have to have each potential shaft at 1 3/4 to truly know what is best? My GolfTec rep said he would try to ask Mizuno to ship these demo shafts to him so we can complete testing. Does all of this sound/feel sensible?

Honestly that all sounds really off to me. Im 6’5 and play 1/4 over at most and my arms are normal length. I have had fitters at major OEM tell me they would never fit anyone more than 1” over unless they are talking NBA height, like 6’10 or more.

Also he shouldn’t need to have the shaft in 1 3/4 over to fit you. The shafts profile for the most part isn’t going to change.

What i’m trying to say is. I don’t see any fitter saying, Well i would put you in brand A if you were standard length. But since we are ordering 1” over I’m going to go with Brand B.

The only logic I can imagine is if he is thinking graphite for the longer shaft vs steel due to weight.

i don’t know man. There is a lot there i would question or get a 2nd opinion on.

Do we know if the new hot metal and hot metal pro are going to be released this year? Or will they delay the release of the hot metal pro replacement, like they did 2 years ago?

The entire 921 line is being released at the same time. Apparently, the new wedges are coming later.

Thanks. Can’t wait to see them. I demoed the 919s pre-covid, made an appointment to get fit, then then pandemic hit. By the time everything opened by me, the 919s were gone!
