Any car enthusiasts around here?

They may be good this season as they are new. I would consider real snows for next year to make it that much better. ;) As I said above, I've had a lot of Subarus because snow. They're pack mules through the snow with snow tires (or you wanna go out in the snow being a Tommi Makinen, RIchard Burns, Colin McRae, Solberg, etc... pick your Subaru driver LOL) . My wife has snows on her FJ Cruiser and it's a literal beast every winter when ground clearance is needed. :)

I was gonna get Blizzaks so ill keep seeing how they do. I only drive about 10K kilometers a year so if I can get a few winters out them I might just run one set of tires year round and replace them once. Well see. I rarely keep a car more than 5 years

I work in the auto industry and don't own a car lol. I do pay the monthly lease on my wife's Stelvio though. Everyone in my group is a total gear-head; I'm just known as the golf guy. Currently developing the transmission s/w for the next gen Jeep GC; should be an interesting year and hopefully will still have time for golf.

Keep the pics coming...I'm thoroughly enjoying them ?

I have a thing for traditionally unreliable brands, lol. But really, the Jag F-Pace is probably the most enjoyable thing I have ever owned. It’s fast and nimble and handles amazingly well in bad weather. The Jeep only has cosmetic mods since I live in the plains and have no real off-roading areas. I have been a part of 2 Jeep builds for real off-roading in Moab. One was a ‘78 CJ and the other was an ‘86 box Cherokee. You know you have a problem when you have more money in spare parts than the actual vehicle is worth.

Not a lot of places carry Nokian around here. Way easier to get Bridgestones. They've always been good to me. I've never tried the Nokian to be honest

I changed windshield wipers this evening due to a break in my driver's side wiper. Does that make me an enthusiast?

HAHAHA! Thank for stroking my feeble ego! I definitely DO NOT have my brother's skill. But I hit the golf ball much better than he does! At least I have that going for me. :D

Been a car guy all my life, early 59's now. Was a auto mechanic for 15 years.

Had two cars I wish I still had.

67 Mustang coupe. Stuffed a 351 in it. That thing was a rocket. School bus hot me and took this to the junk years.

71 Chevelle. I built a small block 400 for it. Big valve 202 heads. Radical solid loft cam. Mod high compression. Big single plane intake with a built Holley 850 cfm. That thing had so much torque. Sold it to be more grown up. So, I did what any "adult" would do. Bought a 39 cigarette....

I was really wanting one of those as I need a truck of some kind (for lowes runs mostly) but I love jeeps and dont need a fullsize truck like the crew cab ram I have now. My only hangup is price. In order to get one with the options I would want (mostly Nav and LED light group) it will run me north of $50k, which is absurd.

I am very much a car guy, but not in the traditional use of the term. I view automobiles in very practical terms. They don't make you cool; they just get you where you need to go.

I like cars that are reliable, don't attract attention, don't cost a lot of money to own or run, and are easy to keep running reliably for long periods of time. I buy used cars, work on them myself, and drive them until the wheels fall off. As such, I like heavily produced US domestics for the most part - Fords are the best in my opinion although GM is a close second. Anything associated with Mopar/Chrysler should simply be left alone.

Ideally, I am looking for something that has a lot of units on the market, so that I can go to the junk yard and find everything from a side mirror to an engine block for pennies on the dollar. Take them home, bolt them on, and continue driving.

I'm also a die hard manual transmission guy. So much more fun to drive and I'd much rather switch out a clutch than a whole transmission.

I also realize that I am a curmugdeon, an anachronism, and my views run counter to the prevailing attitudes of most car people. I apologize for being this way.

Lol. I do like Bullitt but that car is only a loose interpretation....it’s a customers car that we saved from being hacked into a drag car. He’s not a Steve McQueen fan really. I just talked him into letting me paint it highland green , because I love green. Lol.

I’ll dig up some more pics. These are nice. But not my Crown Jewels.

this is what I spent my 20s and most of my 30s doing instead of learning to play golf. Built 67 cars from the ground up .(anything I do as a complete job is out on rotisserie and painted underneath etc. completely apart) . And who knows how many partial builds with engine swaps, 5 -6 speed conversions etc. One day I might Build one for me. Sadly. I never have.
