Already there pal ! Lol. If you’re ever in SC pm me and I’ll give you directions out for the 10 cents tour. Maybe even a supercharger spin up ride. The white one is pulleyed for only 11 lbs Of boost at the moment and still made 488 at the wheels. I can change two pulleys and up the fuel and make 17 lbs and who knows how much power. We detuned it so it wouldn’t self destruct. Lol.

While golf is my #1 hobby, the car has certainly been the most expensive hobby as of late. Picked up a 2017 Mustang GT in November 2017 and then dumped another $8k into it. Car has full upgraded track suspension, aftermarket wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires, full Borla cat-back exhaust, GT350 manifold tuned and running on E85, and some other visual modifications. Everything but mounting and balancing the wheels & tires done by me. Absolute blast of a weekend car. I take it to the drag strip occasionally but amazingly enough it's autocrossing where it shines (and where I have more fun).

I've always been a cars and golf guy, but sadly the investment in golf doesn't leave me too much left over to indulge the car side of things - so rather than getting a daily driver and a toy, I;ve had to combine the two into one. So about 5 years ago, I bought myself a little BMW 1 Series Coupé, the 125i which is very close to the 128i you chaps get in the states. However a couple of differences in the engine, mean the EU version can be easily remapped - start out at 218bhp, now running about 280 with just a map (the 125 is a detuned 130i, so remappers over here just put the 130i map on it). I also did other little bits - refreshed the suspension and upgraded the speakers, but otherwise left it stock. So it's now a reasonably comfortable go kart :)

S2FA42MIJRDJ.jpgIt's now on 148k miles and running sweeter than ever, and capable of giving theoretically faster cars a bit of a fright. I'm probably going to upgrade to a 440i later in the year, but am determined to keep this as a toy. With no turbo, 6 cylinders, a manual box and rear wheel drive, BMW won't make anything like it again.

53WURAPBDMAZ.jpgNo need to do anything to it as of yet. I've considered wheels but haven't bothered and would rather dump money on golf at the moment. With 500 at the wheels and some nice torque I don't see much to mess with for now. Makes me smile a little inside almost every time I take it out. Still think I'll go with an M3 coupe at some point as well but it's hard to not enjoy having roominess, comfort, and power all in one.

Dad is, tried to get me into it but I like driving them way more than working on them. Gets expensive if your not doing some of the installs yourself. First car was a Honda Civic and I dumped every cent I could as a teenager into it. It wasn’t too bad from a F&F standpoint. Loved it, might still have it if it weren’t stolen and stripped. Dropped a type R engine in from Japan with friends one summer, did everything but the final bit of wiring. Those guys got lucky as hell when they stole it.

I have an 05 M3 now with some minor mods, also a blast to drive. I DD a grand Cherokee and am thinking about consolidating to one car without a clue what that would be. The M3 has basically depreciated as far as its going to so haven’t been in a huge hurry but I think it put 500 miles on it last year.

If you are an Audi fan (I am), take a look at the SQ5 - I bought a 2019 earlier this year to replace an A4 and it checks a lot of boxes for me and is a great DD.  No mods other than PPF on the front end and window tint - after talking to the service manager I decided against a stage 1 or other mods that could negate the warranty.  I think the BMW X3M40i or Mercedes GLC43 are comparable based on preference.

I guess I was a bit of a car guy at one time.  I owned a bunch of 1970 1.7 liter 914s and a couple BMW 2002s.  I did a lot of body work, paint and engine rebuilds and pretty much anything you could do to a car.  I understood the 914 fuel injection system pretty well and could fix most anything including some work on the brain.  LOL I straightened the right front of one of them with a tractor...  Here is a picture of one or maybe two of them:

914.jpg.08fc801638181b3c7a6a486a0e982120.jpg

Does not look like much but fitted with an anti sway bar and lowered with stiff springs in the back.  Cornered like a slot car and put my muscle car friends to shame on twisty roads.  Not so much in a straight line though...

Here is a TR3 that I painted and flipped at a loss:

TR3NoLPlate.jpg.49932a8466086902df64477b94b28e54.jpg

And the coup de gras.

Worst car ever built anywhere by any manufacturer:

Audi_100LS.jpg.1aba6e53215fb6dbe59c8cfb26cadc9a.jpg

Never ran long enough or fast enough for me to even get a ticket in it.

Yes can agree here.

I bought a nice running 1930 Chevy 2 door for $75  and sold it 6 months later for $50 so I could buy a 55 Chevy for $125.  sold that a got a nicer 56 Chevy for $150.  Traded that in on a 63 Pontiac. Sold my 68 Red Camaro for about $1000  and bought a 70 Chevelle 2 door coupe for $2800.  All the money spent on those added up wont even pay the sales tax I paid on my C6 Corvette.

Have owned WAY too many including at least one of every M3 ever made including owning an e30, e36, e46, individual e90 and an e60 M5 at the same time. Rebuilt e30 including painting in the garage with a rotisserie.  Sold all for more than I paid for them.  Now I keep it more simple and spend more time enjoying them than building them.  Have shrunk it down to these and don’t plan on buying anything else until I can buy what I really want.

I like cars, always have but I don't have a garage at home to store or work on them so no project car or weekend car. I would like one but every car that I have in mind I either cannot find them, they cost an insane amount for no reason, they're more rust than car, etc, etc. But one day I'll build myself a weekend car for back roads and highway driving.

As for what I drive well I'm currently in a 2019 F150 with the 5.0L Coyote. Had to get the V8 because not sure how much longer these will be around and I've always wanted one, plus way less maintenance vs the turbos.

What I have planned is nothing too drastic gonna get a tonneau cover soon, do an exhaust after not sure which one but thinking of getting an active valve installed to keep the neighbors happy. Will eventually level when I replace the tires and wheels with something aftermarket. Also thinking about possibly doing some LED lights for extra light when needed, not for driving I'm not an a-hole. But just want to see if I can find a way to almost hide them so it looks stock. The last and not much of a mod is a tent and bed for the back.

I'm an old guy that loved muscle cars when I was a teen and in my 20's. I had the following cars and it makes me sick to see the value nowadays watching a car auction. If we could have only seen into the future regarding muscle car values.

1.   1957 Chevy stepside with a stock 283

2.  1967 Chevelle 396 L78

3.  1964 Nova with a pumped up 327

4.  1956 Chevy with a pumped up 327 that rattled windows at idle and got 4 miles per gallon. Also ran 4:88 gears so could only drive ~50 miles an hour on the freeway.

5.  1969 Camaro SS 350

6.  1969 Camaro Z28 with factory cross-ram

7.  1970 Chevelle 454 LS6

Non-muscle cars that I owned

1. 1984 Mazda RX7 GSL-SE that I added a full body kit and had custom rims made for 255's in the rear and 225's in the front. Slight engine modification

2. 1963 Porsche 356 S90

3. 1964 Porsche 356 SC

4. 1966 911

Now the old guy drives around in one of the two Mercedes that we have.
