Tips on wedding ring for golf

May I suggest hooking it onto car keys. Makes it easy to remember where it is and you probably already have a good system for storing those while you golf.

Just get the ring you want and play golf no big deal getting used to a ring on your finger.

I'm team silicon ring. Wear it almost every day and only change rings when we are going somewhere dressed formally.

 

I don't even notice the silicon ring when doing any thing. The regular hard ring bugs me.

Don't buy a ring based on golf. Buy one that looks good for everyday wear. My only ring requirement was that it can open beers and its been a great life choice. I played a handful of rounds with the ring on and it was ok but I like the feel without it better. Play a couple with and without and most likely it'll end up in the bag or car while you play.

I’ve been wearing my simple solid gold ring 37 years no problem. My son prefers the silicone kind.

Bingo. Mine only comes off if I want to polish it or take to jeweler to be resized. I've had two mri's done and both times was asked to remove my ring.

After I retired and worked in a pro shop I was amazed by the number of people that would call in asking if anyone found their ring. They would leave then in the cubbies or the cup holders. Also people would turn in rings they found out on the course. I always wondered if these were from golfers whose wives called them saying they took off with the neighbor.

I have a fairly wide tungsten wedding band that I have been playing golf in for the last 2.5 years and doesnt bother me. What has bothered me lately is randomly grabbing a club and the tungsten dings the hell out of my clubs or black shafts I have on my wedges. So I opt for what others have mentioned a silicon black wedding band off amazon for $5.

Mine goes on when I leave the house in general, off the minute I am back. I won't wear mine to golf, do yard work, you name it, but especially golf - just don't like it.

I really don't understand the concept of a faux wedding ring. One ring to rule them all for me - anything else just isn't my wedding ring.

Thanks for all of the comments. I was curious if the so called comfort fit (rounded inside the ring) actually made any difference in a gold band. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I originally wore my namesake great grandfather's ring for the first three years of marriage. I developed an allergic reaction and will get a nasty rash if I wear it, so I am ring free. At first, I took it off to play, but eventully left it on. I never liked the look of silicone rings.

Choose a simple design and it won't take you long to get used to wearing it. Mine is smooth & rounded and I never take it off. I play frequently (190 rounds last year alone) and have never had an issue with wearing it. I also play wearing my watch.

It does for me in normal wear, was much more comfortable compared to others back when we were "testing" styles 32 years ago, lol. But as I said, I don't wear mine for golf.

I used to bike A LOT, and sometime around my 50th birthday I decided I was completely over that tiny giant of a callus just below my ring finger. Thankfully the silicone craze was starting so I got one. PERFECT! More comfort gripping on the bike, gripping yard tools, gripping golf clubs.. They do not last, but they are cheap..

On the whole, I think wearing a wedding ring is a good thing for anyone who is married. A marriage should be something that you commit to not only for life, but for every second of every day that you are in that life. While there are cases where marriages need to be disolved - certainly - I get the sense that too many people take it lightly these days and are willing to walk away from it for really stupid reasons. Having that ring on your finger should be a constant reminder of the commitment - not for others, but for you.

 

So, regardless of what ring you choose, you should be willing to commit to wearing that sucker all the time, in everything that you do. I personally don't like the idea of taking it off for certain things (like golf) or having different rings for different occasions. It doesn't matter what it's made of, it matters that you wear it.

if you purchase a tacori “breathable ring, it comes with an additional “sport” band. I wear this to golf as it gets dinged up and you don’t have worry about it.

I'm left handed as well, and to me, it matters more for us, especially if you play an overlap grip. Since the index finger on my right hand jams into the ring, which pushed the fing into my ring finger and middle finger on my left hand, it was quite uncomfortable for me when I first got married. I actually lost my first wedding band about a month after I got married because I took it off mid-round because it had gotten so uncomfortable. These days I wear a silicon ring and dont even notice it since it is flexible.

I recently got married and it only took me a few rounds to get used to my wedding ring made of tungsten...Tried the Qalo rubber ones but they get moisture stuck under them and your finger starts to look like it had a band-aid on it for 3 days.

Funny when we went to get the rings; wife got a nice one all designed and then the woman asked me what I wanted and I said 'Cheapest as I won't wear it.' she gasped and went seriously. Everyone has different expectations and beliefs.

I find it hard to believe that fidelity to one's marriage would be a controversial topic. A ring is simply one of the most common practices and displays of that fidelity. If you've got another way to go about it, that's fine. In the end, I think it is important for married couples to stay true to each other - whether that is sexual fidelity or whatever is obviously dependent upon the individual relationship.

 

All I am trying to say is that marriage only works if you are committed to the long haul.
