Tips on wedding ring for golf

Absolutely agree on the commitment. After almost 20 years of marriage and 25 years of being together, I can say with 100% certainty that my wife and I will be together for life. I bought her a nice ring and we bought me the cheapest stainless steel ring we could find.

Mine is just a plain gold band, about 3/16” in width. Smooth, no texturing and I never notice it while playing. I think you want to avoid anything too big and thick, with diamonds, ridges, or angles like an octagon shape.

Back in the day I knew a guy that would turn his class ring around so it looked like a wedding band thinking college girls (he was the same age) would be more likely to hit on him if he appeared to be a married guy at the bar. Never saw it pay off, lol.

I only wear my wedding band for nice events. I keep it in a safe so I don’t lose it. Silicon at all other times. It was too bulky for my golf glove.

I’ve tried and tried to wear one while playing and couldn’t get used to it. I’ve dabbled with the silicone. My fingers swell in the heat so none of them felt great.

I wear mine when playing, and have never had a problem. I'll take mine off when I'm doing something that might mess it up, and It feels funny to have it off.

Gold band with beveled edges. Mine is about 1/8" thick. Never notice it and really never remove it.

 

Your hand will sort of conform to it. You'll end up with a smoothed groove on your finger and a callous on your palm just below it.

Always take mine off to play. Try not to lose it, I’m on my 3rd ring. So I just leave it at home now.

I’m an assistant Super and this x1000. Super comfortable, unless the inside gets caked in sand from doing irrigation, and who cares what happens to it. I work with my hands all day and it’s nice knowing that if my ring gets caught on something, the band will rip/break before ripping my finger off.

It's slightly rounded on the inside and easier on and off. Just this month bought two from Groove Life to try. April will be 19 years and 25 together. Silicone works well with me at the gym and out in the yard and the rest of the time in the gold band.

I just leave mine on. My first round after getting married it felt a little weird, but I’ve gotten used to it and it feels strange to not have it on at this point.

I’ve tried the silicone rings and haven’t found them as comfortable. They feel thick to me - my regular band is wide but thin, so it’s pretty easy to forget it there. Never had an issue with it and wouldn’t want to take it off because I would find a way to lose it.

I have a tungsten carbide wedding ring with a comfort fit (beveled edges) and never take it off. Once you get used to it being there, it will have no impact on the way a golf club feels in your hand. Been married for 23 years and have never taken off my ring to play golf.

I've been rocking silicone wedding rings for years. I have an extra one in the car and gym bag in case I forget, but when I golf, I don't wear the ring. no one cares, certainly not the beverage cart attendant.

I have a wider band, and I just take it off and put it in my wallet or on one of my watch bands. Wife knows. Doesn't seem to bother her, never had an issue with taking it off and on. Tried to play a round with it when I first got married, and it was too bulky with it on.

the fact that there is a thread on this topic makes me LOL. I think there are two solutions to this: (1) end the engagement now because your fiance is already probably a widow & when you lose the ring because you cared enough about your golf game that you took it off, it will be the 10th argument in a week about how golf is ruining your relationship which will undoubtedly lead to a nasty divorce down the road OR (2) Wear it, realize that the cart girl is only 16 & accept the fact that shooting 74 on par-70 will only be good for making money off of weekenders. Congrats on the engagement btw!

I take my ring off and attach it to my golf bag and put on my qalo silicone ring while I play. Invest in a qalo silicone ring if you are worried about it.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't pick your wedding ring based on golf considerations. That said, mine is pretty low profile and rounded. Even so, I do find that I get a blister on occasion just below the ring on the pad of my hand. If I'm playing a lot (trip, long range session, etc), I'll put some golf tape between the ring and the finger/base of my hand. Then I'll wrap the base of my ring finger all the way around in golf tape to keep it in place. That works fine for me. It sometimes makes my glove harder to remove, but it's no big deal.

I think taking the ring off for golf is a great idea, if you're smart enough not to lose the ring. I don't trust myself.

I put my wedding ring on the day of my wedding and took it off the next day.

20 years later and I still haven't put to back on.

 

In fact, I'm not really sure where the damn thing is. Maybe in my bathroom cabinet or buried in my dresser somewhere?

Before I wore my silicone, I wore my tungsten ring and had no issues playing with it on.

Take it off and either leave it in the car or put it in the valuables pocket of the golf bag. I am too worried it’s going to fall off while I’m taking my glove off during the round. It’s always the first thing I grab when finished with the round.

This 100%. I’ve had silicone in the past and started wearing my tungsten when I got a management position at work, but I just got a Groove Life Zeus and it’s the greatest silicone band ever.

I've never been able to get used to wearing mine while playing. I've got a gold one and a silicon one, and it just feels strange when I'm playing. I keep mine in a pouch with my wallet and keys inside my bag.

My wedding band was a bunch of drugged up nutcases who played the most fantastic set ever. I'd book 'em again for an event, but I can't think of any reason to take them to the golf course with me.
