Does anybody else notice Faldo's bias

Why wouldn't you want someone with a personality and opinion? US commentators will be biased towards American players. Let the Euros have their day. Rory fully deserves it too. Plus you got all these Euros who have played in the states and we don't know whether to call Rahm a ASU product or Spanish ambassador.

Nope never picked up on it. Obviously he will give some attention to Euro players but it’s maybe because he has close ties to them. Not really watching though on how many times he mentions Euro players versus others.

I like Faldo, and I haven't really noticed. Sure he gets excited over Rory but deservedly so. He also gushes over Tiger and a lot of the American stars also so it's fair I think.

In public when addressing anyone that has been Knighted, "Sir" prefaces the "full name" out of respect for the Queen and English Royalty. Over recent years, Faldo is one of two that received the honor. He's represented the Queen, England and the honor, respectfully.

Being Knighted in contemporary times is tied to notable accomplishments. It's not the same as awarded the Copley Medal. Kinda like the difference between Medal of Honor recipient and Silver Star recipienat.

I always thought that one was knighted for outstanding service to one's nation in some heroic manner. I was surprised to see golfers and rock stars getting knighted these days.

Before countries built army's Knights worked for high ranking Aristocrats, similar to our Delta Force and Seal teams tasked to various Intelligence and government services today. All forms of Knighthood fall under "Orders of Knighthood" and today, there are various categories for service. The Queen has the discretion regarding Knighting for accomplishment. From the Royal family and State perspective, it's still quite an honor...

Seems to lose its luster when athletes and rock musicians are knighted. I am aware of the role of the knight in days gone by. I am sure they would be surprised if a court jester was knighted. ;-)

It would lose luster if people don't know they fall into categories. Like so much in life there's a hierarchy of importance. Not unlike all the awarded medals in our military and where the Medal of Honor and Distinguished Service cross stand in relation to the rest. Something I believe you know...

life seen a slower player, especially on the greens. His playing partner was visibly irritate with him too.

I’m not sure it’s just a Euro thing. He always seems enthusiastic for his West Virginia neighbor, Bubba Watson. He seems to like his buddy, John Daly, too. I don’t mind.

He's the number 1 player in the world and awesome to watch hit the golf ball- I dont mind some gush.

While we are on bias though dont get me started on why we need to watch Phil send every tee shot he hits onto the next fairway...
