Regarding the Open/ Closed/Square; there can be manufacturing tolerances, as said my 410 LST is 2* Open ish, I requested that... I bet there was ones closed.

A lot has to do with whether you square the face up or leave it slightly open/closed at address.

Exactly.  I can make any driver look open or closed by how I grip it.  The pics I took are of the club with the sole resting on the ground.

True, but at address now your hands need to be in a position that might not feel natural. For example I had probably 10 different K15 drivers.  I had to play my hands so far forward at address just to get the 5* closed face to sit straight that it was very unnatural feeling.

I am hopeful the 25 MAX is neutral bias and NOT fade bias? I cannot turn my 410 LST over in neutral setting at all and I HAT to hook the ball. I have spent my whole life looking for all woods to sit "open". The 400 max turned over brilliantly and the 410 plus a touch easier 410 LST cannot turn it over and miss is a block all day...

Hi, Wardonation, everybody,

I am a G400&G400 MAX user who lives in Japan.  Here are what I felt.

* Sound  Pitch: High>Low

XXIO>G410>G425 MAX = SFT >G425 LST = G400 >MARVRIC >SIM

* Sound Loudness: Loud> Muted

XXIO = G410 >G425 MAX = SFT > G425 LST = G400 >MARVRIC >SIM

* Feel: Springy&hollow > Solid&muted

G410> XXIO > G425 MAX = SFT > G400=G425LST >  MARVRIC >SIM

* Workability?  (I don't work drivers.)

G425 LST >>> SUBZERO > G400 ? G425 MAX ? SIM ?

* Draw/Fade bias : D > F

G424SFT >>> G425 MAX > G400 > G400 MAX  > G425 LST

G425 MAX is much more draw-biased than G400 MAX. G425 SFT is too much draw-biased (for me.)

G410 plus and G410 LST are close in terms of D/F bias characteristics. However, G425 MAX and G425 LST are apart, i.e., G425 MAX=draw-biased, G425 LST= Slighty-fade-biased (STREIGHT-biased?).

From what I’ve personally seen so far, the 425 MAX is neutral with the CG shifter in the fade setting, and draw biased with the CG shifter in the neutral setting.  Again this is how it has performed for me.

I had the same issues with the G410 line as you so that should give you hope for the G425’s.

Well good news is I have a ventus black 6x en route, hopefully it shows up Friday or Saturday so I can see what these things can really do.

Hopefully can make my decision on which head I'm keeping.  Then I'll be the most important WRXer on the BST.

Don't forget to cut me a good deal on that LST when it's time to sell since I sent you that VB 😉 haha

Sure thing, no problem at all.  That's the whole point of this site isn't it?  A place for a bunch of golf gear degenerates to come together and share their experiences.

When will the G425 be in stores to try and demo?

I personally am looking forward to it! Right now, I think it is going to be the driver I will buy. Either that or the 410 Plus. I can get a great deal on the 410 plus, especially after the 425 Max comes out, so it will be one of those two most likely. When I demo them side-by-side I will select. I got to believe the 425 Max is even more forgiving with the heavier weight in the back.

As far as your question, I have heard in January sometime.

Danggg. I had the best round of my life today, a 4 over par 74, with the g410 lst, 10.5* in the bag. Played in the ventus blue 6x, 45”, in the “secret +” setting. I drove the ball quite well today, hitting 10/13 fairways with the driver. Funny enough 2/3 fairways I didn’t hit are the 2 birdies I made. It’s gunna be hard to move on, but that 2% improvement in MOI and 200-300 rpm spin reduction hit are tempting.

Man, so happy right now. Super high of golf.  I just wish I got rid of those FOUR 3 putts!!!

In this video, the 410plus is compared to the 425max. The author says that because the 425 is a lower spin than the 410, you might have to put the 425 in a higher loft than the 410 to get the same distance out of it.

What a pity his results and strikes are all over the place. I'd throw his stats out tbh. In the comments tho he says he's fitting people into higher lofts with the 425 Max so that's interesting to take on board.

So here are the updated numbers with the Ventus Black 6X.  Again played both heads in the standard loft setting with the CG shifter in neutral.  Shaft is tipped 1” and plays at 44.5”.  No additional weight was added to either head, swingweight came out right around D0.  The LST is red on the charts and the MAX is green.

As you can see from the averages below, the LST works better for me.  What really surprised me was how much tighter the dispersion circle was with the LST vs the MAX.  Just felt really dialed in with this combo.

@SwingBlues The sound definitely improved on the MAX with the Ventus vs the stock shaft.  Still has a bit of a hollow sound, nothing a little hotmelt couldn’t fix.

Usually around D3-D4 but I have no problems with lighter.  I've messed around with setups as low as C8 and as heavy as E0.

I might swap over the Max weight into the LST.  Would add about 9 grams and bring it up to right around D4.

Thanks. The “flat +” setting. “Secret +” was a stupid name to call it but it was the first name that came to mind. I think they used to call it that cause when the head is played in any of the flat settings, there isn’t any image visible on the adapter.

Also just an FYI on how I have my Skytrak setup.  You have the option of displaying spin 2 ways.  Total spin with spin axis which is how I have mine or backspin and sidespin without spin axis.

The total spin shows the back spin and side spin added together and gives a separate spin axis measurement.  So actual back spin is lower than what the numbers in the charts above are showing.

I might change it to see the actual backspin numbers.

Only reason I mention any of this is to illustrate that both heads are in fact quite low spin.  Even using the stock stiff shaft, my spin numbers were really good for both heads.

Update:  Went back in to my session history from last night and it let me change to backspin/sidespin.  So here are the true backspin numbers.  First is the LST and Max is second.20201122_084919.jpg.8b4a1533880d64262c8b96bf925bb2a7.jpg20201122_084936.jpg.dd37c1314e5fb06a156c23184214ce35.jpg

You are correct about it being called a secret setting originally (started off as completely unmarked & unpublished in the anser/G25/Rapture 13).  Then it went away, until G410 (now only marked internally).

Interesting. I thought I remembered that name but did not know the back story.
