@J13so if you’re doing 5g on a driver, primarily for sound and/swingweight, what is considered neutral?

Where do you recommend usually when a driver already has rearward weight?

Neutral is center / center

So we can confirm Ping will still "digital loft" heads for a fee? Will they hot melt as well for a fee?

@ctoney1992thanks for the sound commentary.  I miss the sound of the 400 vs the 410 metallic sound. Looking forward to hitting it soon.

Played today and hit the driver and 3 wood... legit.  Luv the rogue shaft in them as well.

I'll be replacing my 410 hybrid with a 425 for sure. Can't wait to give the fairways a look as well. Might be a 5 or 7 wood in my future.

My Max head in stock factory build with the 130msi is 199-200 grams. They say the stock weight is 26g but mine came with 23g. This might be the weight they use for this setup. Ping state 206 g for the Max and factoring in the adapter weight it would be pretty close to that.

I hate heavy heads and fit perfectly into the old standard or 198-200g and D0-D2 is dandy. The heavy heads so common now bog me down a bit. I dropped 6g in my G400 LST and it was like night and day for me. A club going ok turned into a gamer. The Max is going quite good considering but i will be dropping 6g or so shortly. I dropped 6g out of the G410 hybrid and it went from good to great.

I'm sure others have been affected by the rise in driver head weight (some companies not all) over the years. Some aren't easily changeable so the Cobra LTD was a fail for me.

Ping says a rogue white 80 as an option for the fairway wood but the specs are actually that of a rogue white 70.

Definitely a typo. I have the Max 3 wood with the stock 130msi 80s.

Followed up with my local club champion again to try to get the official OK:

"From what we are being told is that we should have these to demo in "right around" the release date so I can't say for certain you can demo them on the 11th but it should be that week. Orders will be filled for pre-orders and are not shipping orders out until the 5th of February barring no delays from Ping."

Good enough for me! Scheduling this bad boy.

Funny you mentioned that, I got an email today from one of their stores asking me if I’d like to come in and hit it soon. I had a fitting back when the TSI was released and ended up hitting the G410 LST better. I’m excited.

Finally got around to being able to get out with my preferred shaft and the 425 Max head.

I had the stock Ping Tour 65g shaft. Not the biggest fan of it’s feel. Good results though but a little lower launching than I would like.

I put my Fujikura Motore X F3 and the head came alive. Higher launch and more carry but still very straight. I then lofted down to the little minus, 9.75 I believe from the 10.5, put the weight in the fade position and absolutely loved the flight and shape, a touch of a fade but nothing crazy. I have a tendency to hit the ball out towards the toe and I think moving the weight slightly out really helps.

It really is a solid head, I’m getting over/used to the sound as well.

Can’t wait to try the max. Spent a lot of time with the LST already on Trackman, but need to compare against the 9* lofted up to 10* and then fade setting.
Might even get digital loft to 8.75* as I have had a ton of flight success and ball speed lately on a 9* head lofted up.

How do you like the rogue white? I am planning on sticking my ventus blacks in my G425's but thought about giving the White a go especially if it is the 130MSI

I've been pleasantly surprised by it tbh. Very good shaft and nice weight/heft for a 3 wood. The beauty of getting it is that it is no upcharge and worth miles more than the other stock shafts.

Just wondering if you asked for any tip trim instructions? I have a g410 5w with the EF black 85 and it feels like a noodle - probably not tipped. Ping, I believe but don't quote me, don't tip any of their shafts (there's a thread on the G410 hybrid with the Tensei that feels soft). Further to that I have a G410 4H and Ts 4H both in the Tensei Pro blue 85 and they feel different - Ts much stiffer.

Standard tipping is 0.5” in driver for the Rogue White this year, I can’t speak to the fairway however.

It’s weird that the ping website has the rogue white 70 listed as a driver shaft but says the weights are 69/71 grams in stiff/xstiff. Those are neither the weights aldila lists in either the 60 or 70 gram options. According to the aldila site The 60 is 66/68 and the 70 is 73/76
